Is there a schedule available? Wondering if there are any in northern RI I might be able to make.

I haven't seen a full schedule yet, but I'm sure Learfield will release one shortly.

Correct. He said Jeff was deserving of first team and felt Cyril (not just defensive team) and Fatts were worthy of being on one of the all conference teams as well.section(105) wrote: ↑5 years ago .......just got home......great nite and feeling the excitement of the real season kick off......if I heard this correctly, Coach said he thought that Jeff was deserving of a first team pre-season mention.......loved talking food with Wife and Ramulous......Go Rhody.....

I'd rather see them on the end of season all conference teams.
That means they and the team had a good season.

Steve seems to have such little basketball knowledge. His digging questions were player by player to go over how many minutes they played against Pace and to project that to the full season - asking Coach Cox if that is what they will average for the year. Then at the end he does the same things with points. Finally coach stops him when he gets to the Fr and says we are putting a point expectation on the Fr.

I agree, he was becoming extremely annoying in his line of questioning. What does he actually expect coach to say? He can’t predict the future, that’s for certain.Rhody83 wrote: ↑5 years ago Steve seems to have such little basketball knowledge. Yeah, and down to one lane on both during the day...and 4 bucks each way on the Pell bridge. Ripoff.NYGFan_Section208 wrote: ↑5 years ago Wasn't it like...all the way across the ocean (at least two bridges) from here?
They will be working on that bridge until the day it falls into the bay.....narrow lanes and shitty roadbed.

Re: David Cox Coach's Show
I was there! Dave is working hard with these guys. He had mentioned that some of these freshman guys went from having to know like four plays total, to knowing 20+ (can't recall the exact numbers he said right now but it's in the recording). PLUS the fact that they're freshmen. I do not have any hesitations in DC as a coach whatsoever.
Not to turn this into a Yelp review, because I hate that site BUT...The food at Red Parrot is a bust, as any restaurant with a massive 20-page menu is. The wraps looked stale and I heard the rice was awful. I had a few drinks, but everyone near me complained about the food. Plus it was like $10 for a Tito's & Soda. It's $6 at Mews -- If I was at Mooring or 22 Bowen's that $10 is to be to be expected, price-wise.
I heard from the Learfield team that this was the only show at Red Parrot. I believe it took me about 45 minutes to get from the restaurant back to Gansett.
I would say outside of URI staff there were roughly 20 fans. I've seen fewer people at Two Ten shows before.

Re: David Cox Coach's Show
The Fr have been practicing since June 1st. Other Fr are producing on other teams (most of the teams Rhody has played). PC starts three Fr. We have had plenty of Fr produce before - Terrell, EC & Jarvis come to mind. Also, Jeff starting in Jan.
I don’t want to hear excuses for the Fr. It sounds weak.
I also watched Tate play last year at MacDuffie. Their offense seemed to generate better scoring chances than URI’s this year.

You’re lucky. At times yesterday the backup was 2 hours. It was bad enough that they're changing the hours for the bridge work.Taylor Swift wrote: ↑5 years ago I was there! All freshman aren’t built the same obviously 83. Some the learning curve is steeper. Cox can’t make their shots go in, or instill them with confidence, but he can put them in the game and allow them to create within the the flow of the game. They haven’t, but they will. It’s not an excuse, it’s a fact, for many.Rhody83 wrote: ↑5 years ago The Fr have been practicing since June 1st. Other Fr are producing on other teams (most of the teams Rhody has played). He found confidence by being put in a position to succeed, and guys looking for him. Much easier for FR to step into defined roles, and have trust from their teammates. Cox even said as much in post game. I don't think it was just giving him PT and voila. He's a big man, he needs to be set up. Same for Omar for threes. Or Tyrese to slash or catch and shoot. Can't just throw em out there and expect them to shine, they are pups. Our older dogs have to usher them in, we haven't done that completely yet. Hopefully its coming day by day.

Re: David Cox Coach's Show
Slashers create their own shots. Tyrese has had the ball in his hands and either didn’t create or missed a shot he would typically make. Tyrese missed some WIDE OPEN 3’s, one was a BRICK....and he can SHOOT!bigappleram wrote: ↑5 years ago He found confidence by being put in a position to succeed, and guys looking for him. Re: David Cox Coach's Show
I don't know if you can say he would typically make any shots, since he hasn't made many as a Ram/college player. I think its predominantly a confidence thing with him, and Dana and Jermaine as well. But we do have to find ways to build their confidence by getting them some easy looks versus solely waiting on them to create for themselves, that was my only point. Tonight we made an obvious effort to look for Jermaine and we see the results.
