As much as I love Rose Hill gym.....Fordham (and another couple of A-10 members) need to upgrade the venues they play in.....too many are glorified High School gyms.....the conference should press this issue as a condition of continued membership....

Not to put down Bobby Hurley but whoever takes over Fordham will be inheriting some good talent like Bobby did at Buffalo. It is too bad that Pecora did not get another year with this young team. I am not saying Fordham would have a chance of winning the year end tournament and getting a bid but the team looks like it could be light years better than when he took over.

I think Fordham should hire the great "rebuilder of programs".
A man who as Ed Cooley would say, would be "running home".
A coach who has taken his downtrodden program to the heights of
post season play.
The new coach of Fordham should be Jim Baron!

I can't see Bobby every coaching in the A10 while Dan is here.

I think its going to be Cluess/Masiello/Keno Davis

Bobby won't ever coach in A10 when Dan's here. Plus Bobby will have his choice of higher end programs/conferences when he's good and ready.

Seems like "Bobby Hurley to [insert A-10 school]" is the new "Dan Hurley to Seton Hall".

It doesn't seem a step up to anyone who already has a head coaching job. Masiello? No way. Once he recovers from the degree scandal he'll get a bigger job than that. ANd I think I'd rather be the head coach at Iona, where it's easier to get in the tournament.
How about Al Skinner?
Bill Coen -- it's not easy to win at NOrtheastern either.

Not only is Craig Robinson in running at Holy Cross but he was on the UIC campus yesterday. He's from Chicago, recruited it, and when his brother-in-law is done at his current job, UIC would be a good place for a library.

Also, Green Bay coach Brian Wardle (from Chicago suburbs) is rumored to be a front-runner for the DePaul job.

Fordham belongs in the MAAC. The facilities and talent level are equivalent with the top third of that league.

I wish Bernadette could have a conversation with Fordham/Duqesne/Bonnies and have the "end of season" talk the players get. 2 of those 3 need to go and stop dragging down the conference RPI.

Again, I don't get lumping Bona in with Duquesne and Fordham.
They've been to 2 NCAAs since our last one.
They have a loyal fan base, a solid curent program with a
good coach.
Watching what they did in the A-10 tourney without their PG
said a lot.
Yeah, I know, the Motel 6 in Olean sucks, so let's get them
out of the league.......

Bonnies stay. Nice 12 team league remains.

If facilities are as important as we think they are in building a program than every coach out there already has a job at a place with better facilities. I think Pikiel would be a home run for Fordham but I believe Stony Brook has a new gym, for instance.
Fordham would be better off concentrating on unemployed coaches (Welch, Skinner) and assistant coaches.

CFL is in a very good situation, where he is.
People are so thrilled to be in 3 buy in tournaments,
after having nothing for decades.
He had Canisius in the middle of the MAAC, and their fans
think for the most part, he's doing a great job.
It's someplace he can stay as long as he wants, with no real
pressure to become a Sweet 16-Elite 8 coach.
While I have no love for CFL, I can see Canisius being
a perfect marriage for both parties at this stage of his
career and life.

Fordham has hired a head-hunter to search for a new coach. See http://www.fordhamsports.com/news/2015/ ... 54535.aspx. Isn't that unusual when hiring a head coach? I would think an AD would know the landscape pretty well.

Hiring head hunters is a mistake. Forming a committee is a mistake. Do what Thorr did. Tracked Hurley down, met him in a diner, interviewed him, offered him the job.

So awesome that URI is in an era of "this is how it's done, try to replicate URI."

Also, I know for a fact Baron's goal is to get to Fordham. If they offer it, he's going in a heartbeat.

Hiring JB would be a colossal mistake for Fordham.

The knock on Pecora, was that he didn't develop his players and wasn't a good X's and O's coach.

And they think Baron is any better at those things?

I really doubt they will hire him. If they do, they might as well go back to the Patriot League.
