He adjusted in the first half with good results.
He's adjusted into CFL for the 2nd half, however.

Nice run there by Biggie to get us back into it. Defense is still killing us. That big white kid for them is a stiff and he's getting free looks.

Leaves his man, completely abandons him in the paint, at least three times I counted, and now a cheap ass foul. Why leave him in there?

Why isn't he playing with his arms up, instead of at his side????

What a DUMBASS FOUL by Biruta!!! Detroit can't miss at the free throw line.
We could have taken the lead with the 3 that EC had pop on him.
Ugh!

Inexcusable loss. Terrible defense and FT shooting. Well coached teams do both of those things well.

Another frustrating loss.

How the hell do we shoot 46% from the floor and 42% from the free throw line?

Inexcusable loss, I agree. Looked completely lost on defense for 20 minutes. After 1.5 games of great D.

I don't agree that coaching has anything to do with FT shooting, being a good shooting team is a better indicator for FT percentages. We are neither.

Gil has flashes of good offensive play, but longer stretches of abysmal defense and trying way too hard on offense. 5 turnovers from a Junior, key player, cannot happen.

Detroit was bad, we made their front line look like the Fab 5.

Please stop posting. Racism and calling one of our own player's an asshole/tool? We would be better off as a fan base if you stopped rooting for the team.

I'm as upset as anyone with the loss but one bad game doesn't mean Hurley is an idiot and the entire team sucks. Grow up.

Remember what the PC guys were saying about Batts last game? "His vagina was hurting him?" That's Gil too, except much worse. For Batts, it was a one off. For Biruta, it's a trend now that I've seen since the second game after Maine (didn't see Maine). For four defensive series in a row, maybe more but I at least caught the last four, he was 'pretending' to cheat up and help the guards out and completely left that white stiff all alone under the basket, because he shies away from the contact, and that guy was giving him little shots.

This shouldn't be a shock to anyone at all. After the McNeese State game, I caught fire for being pessimistic about their performance through the first 8 games. The responses I got were, among others, "Who cares, we won", "We're 6-2, stop being so negative", and "Enjoy the wins, at least we didn't lose". I also caught fire for criticizing Biruta after a 17 and 8 game. I pointed out the huge turnover stat that most ignored. I knew these types of games would happen. I knew even though we were 6-2, it would be a brutal road forward. The past 3 games have gone exactly how I've expected.

I refrain from commenting in game simply to observe what others say. Most of the heat seemed to go on Biruta today, and rightfully so. He still cannot play any defense whatsoever and according to espn, 5 turnovers today. But wait, he had a double-double! We should just forget the turnovers right? That's how it went against McNeese and Asheville. He is simply not the player Dan hyped him up to be or what we all thought he would become, myself included. I'm guilty of expecting too much myself.

I said after McNeese the losses would continue. You had to know Biruta would go 1 of 2 in that final sequence. It's been our Achilles' heel for years. The one positive I saw in that last set was a great play setup by Dan. The ball went inside, and quickly. There wasn't perimeter dribbling. It was a great set drawn up by him. Applause from me there. Otherwise, wasn't surprised by this loss. There's a reason we were 5 point dogs today. Still looking for in-game improvements. The emotion of playing a rival in PC definitely carried them Thursday night. There wasn't any of that today. Just another disappointing performance to add to the record book. But hey, we still have a winning record, right guys?

It is now abundantly clear that this will be another lost season with respect to record. This team will not finish .500. It is not about the now but the future.

We were all sold a boatload of crap with the hype for this team. The talent is not there in the present tense. I wouldn't have been so disappointed with the way this season has played out if I hadn't been given false hope. I hold Hurley and the media responsible as they really misled us.

According to the box score, Powell played and had a shot. (???)
I'm beginning to wonder about talent evaluation in Kingston.
Reischel, 2 points and very inconsistent. Biruta, a sieve on defense and a turnover machine.
Butler's never played a second of meaningful ball. Oneykaba, a non factor except for his first game
hardly played today, despite us getting destroyed inside.

Brady just took one from Joe Montana's playbook with that rollout and throw
for a winning TD.
Winners find a way to win, no matter what the odds.
Losers find a way to lose.

Did you watch the game? How would either of those guys help? Butler is one step above being a walk-on and we know what Powell is capable of. Hurley had the right guys on the court, they just didn't get perform well enough to win. Putting the scrubs in doesn't solve anything.

If I was coach I'd start the walk-ons next game. Pathetic. And I had one, just one, question for Preston at the beginning of the season. Did you practice free throws because of the new rules. He laughed and said they did. Not.
