From 1st to 6th

Unread post by PeteRI »

A season with high expectations has turned into a massive disappointment. We were preseason favorites to win the A10, but with two games left the best we can finish is 6th. Unless we catch fire and win the tournament this season will end ignominiously.

Yes Pete, obviously a huge disappointment this season.
Except for Sophie, we struggled from 3PT and overall had a negative assist/turnover ratio.
I thought Eva would have more of an impact this season based on all her recruiting build-up.
But she is only a freshman so we will see.

Both Dee Dee and Teisha are grads, they will be gone.
Toure' and Magassa are both seniors, not sure if they will return.
This off-season could turn into a major roster rebuild.

I thought this would be the year, oh well.

Still, we can always win the A10T, and that would make everything else go away.
We would all be elated in that case.

We had 5 good/pretty good outside shooters last year. 2 of them transferred. 2 of them graduated. Emmi shot threes at 34%. Dolly shot them at 36%. Dee Dee shoots them at 29% and Teisha shoots them at 27%. Last year we had 5 players shoot them over 34%....Say Say:34%, Maddie:34%, Emmi:34%, Dolly:36% and Sophie:41%. This year we only have one player over 30%..Sophie:39%. Even her percentage has come down a little because they're keying on her because we have no other shooters. As a team last year, we made 259 threes. This year we have 156 with only a few games left. The transfers we got are more athletic than the ones we lost, but they're not good shooters. Putting the ball in the basket is still the most important skill in basketball.
