RIP Eric Montross

Unread post by ramster »

I remember being in Winston Salem NC in March 1993 when URI had a great win over Purdue and Glenn Robinson then played UNC. UNC went on to win the National Championship.

I remember how big North Carolina was in height and in weight. They had several 7 footers.

North Carolina just rolled over us. Eric Montross was instrumental in the win. Gone too soon.

Wow, gone way too soon. Sounds like whatever cancer he had was aggressive. Exactly my age too...makes you think. RIP Eric.

I was there, too. The game was not as close as the score would indicate.

It was like 80 points at halftime…
Biggest margin in tournament history!

One of my favorite Rhody memories ever was the spur-of-the-moment “Let’s GOOOOOOO Mountaineers!!!” chant that sprang up in the hotel elevator on the day between games.

WVU had an NIT game with PC that night.

Did Montross outscore the Rams by himself?

It seemed like the whistle blew every time one of our guys breathed on him. Meanwhile, he did whatever he wanted.
