Tonight is the women's turn to travel to Providence to take on the Friars. They're 3-5 so far this season under new coach Erin Batth. Brown is the only common opponent so far, with both schools playing away. On 11/15 PC lost 61-56, on 11/17 we won 67-56. Junior forward Olivia Olsen appears to be their best player, averaging a team high 15 points per game, a team high 8.5 rebounds per game, and a team high 12 blocks in 8 games. Senior guard Grace Efosa is second on the team in both points per game (12.2) and rebounds per game (5.6). Junior guard Kylee Sheppard leads the team in assists this season with 24 and steals with 14, and is tied for 2nd in blocks with 4, but also leads the team in turnovers with 25 in 6 games played. She has missed PC's last two games.

We have a NET of 68, they have a NET of 174. Massey Ratings gives the #93 Rams a 62% chance of beating the #171 Friars, with a projected final of 61-56.

URI decided they were only going to play Defense for about 2.5 mins the entire period. Somehow, they could just sit back and that was going to take care of itself. they had Sophie Phillips guarding the low post at one point. Magassa had a chance late to get the lead down to one, but decided to trip over her own feet instead and roll the ball half way down the court to give the Friars the ball at mid court.

Davis now at the line. A min ago, on another drive to the basket where she got mauled, she threw up her hands at the official as if to say, are you going to call a foul today?

And, the answer is most likely "No", Dee Dee. They are going to be reluctant to call anything on the home team today.

Magassa is not having a great game, and her body language says she know it. Just hunched shoulders after a turnover, staring at the floor, grimace on face, walking like lurch back on defense, slow motion. And you can tell, it's all upstairs. Someone needs to turn the on switch on her at halftime. We have seen this before.

I'm a broken record on this point but i.dont know why Eva and Katie are glued to the bench. They're both good shooters and deserve a chance to play. Tammi did the same thing with Maye for her freshman year but we need more depth and scoring options.
