Dayton played Northwestern the game after Malachi Smith went down with a season ending knee injury and Dayton looked very confused and sluggish .
Northwestern was able to basically bully on every loose rebound and 50-50 loose balls . Dayton had many wide open shots . Statistically Dayton shot well
against a defense that gave Dayton lots of room . Dayton had 15 turnovers that were mostly unforced . Their lack of effort on loose balls and on the glass is why I termed it a weak effort . It could have been the loss of smith that really hurt them . yesterday dayton played in a similar fashion until they finally woke up and started fighting back and attacked LSU on both the offensive and defensive ends and reversed a 15 point deficit to beat LSU .

I can't find any other sites with a line yet . It looks like opinions among the odds makers is all over the place so it may be a while before there is a consensus on this game . I think they would view the season thus far as URI over performing and Northwestern under performing which makes it harder
to figure than usual . Hope we can get some definitve line soon.

Obviously this is a tough game to predict. We really know very little about our team. We know that we are athletic, have good height, play hard, have h and have a bull that finds his way to the basket. So far, horrible free throwers. We know we can dominate undersized, lower level teams.

The obvious concerns are: can we dominate inside with a higher level of competition; Is House going to be a quality defensive player, and can House score inside against better interior defense. How will we score if our inside height is neutralized?

A big one to me, is how will we fare if Northwestern goes into a zone. I hope this is not our achilles heal, but remain concerned about this part of our game

All that being said, I'm going with Rhody taking the 8ish line.

Archie operates in silence. He’s not out there selling the program - that’s not his bag. He’ll just build a good ass team and knows the benefits will show up in time.

Because of that our recruits weren’t high profile despite their talent. The early season metrics are still lagging based on last year.

Plus, if you only looked at the final score - we look like close covers, most bettors aren’t taking into account the fact that we pulled our starters at the under 8’s and let 2 blowouts turn into run of the mill covers.

I remember Stephenson and Johnson. So, it was probably a year or 2 later that I started following Rhody as a kid. I don't remember seeing Don play though.
