Women's basketball travels up to the Pizzitola Sports Center tomorrow to take on the Brown Bears. Brown is 2-2, having lost 80-59 to Dolly Cairns and Florida Gulf Coast in their opener and beating Providence last night at Alumni Hall 61-56.
Their top two scorers are guard Kyla Jones (14.5 points per game) and guard Grace Arnolie (12.5 points per game). Arnolie is also second on the team in rebounds per game (5) and leads the team in assists with 13, so she should be our key focus tomorrow.
Our leading scorers are Maye Toure (13 points per game), Teisha Hyman (11), and Tenin Magassa (10). Sophie Phillips is still averaging 9.3 points per game but hasn't really gotten on track yet in our first three games.
Look for our defensive intensity to put pressure on Brown and lead to some easy buckets like it did in our first two games. Massey Ratings gives the #107 Rams an 85% chance of beating the #182 Bears, with a predicted final of 68-55.
We hold a series edge of 25-14 against Brown, and have won the last two in a row. We beat them 12/7/19 89-44 at Bryant as part of the Ocean State Tip-Off Tournament in Coach Reiss' only game against Brown and 12/2/18 72-67 at the Ryan Center as part of the same tournament. Our last loss to Brown was a 76-65 loss on 12/3/16 which was also the last time we played in the Pizzitola Center
