Too bad Soloviev wasn't around when PawSox were up for grabs

The main problem is he doesn't seem to have a real feasible use lined up for it. McCoy at 10k seats is far too large for lower level baseball teams and the 80+ year old age of the stadium is a future issue as it will always require continual work.

The City of Pawtucket has few good options for its high school needs. Tolman is closing in on the century mark and Shea is not all that far behind at some 80+ years old. They are both deficient and need to be addressed. Given they cannot be renovated while still in use and the state nixed any partial school from home model, the only option is a new construction high school and there are few sites in Pawtucket that could accommodate it.

In the end, I think Soloviev is a few years too late. Too bad he didn't control his family's wealth back when Mondor's widow was selling.

Agreed. Maybe he can help make the new Pawtucket soccer complex a true winner.

He's smart and decided to stay away from that disaster. Nothing will make that a winner, the only question is how bad the city and state will lose

This is all a waste of time and would be a waste of $40m. too little, too late.

Sadly, McCoy is dead. it's not coming back. ever. I've said it over and over, Larry Luchinno single handedly killed the Pawsox and McCoy. Even if RI decided to foot the bill 100%, LL was moving the team. he never, ever, ever, wanted to keep the team in RI. he was moving the team the day he took ownership.

had Soloviev caught this bug 4 or 5 years ago, we'd be having different conversations.
