I remember watching his undefeated Indiana team with Quinn Buckner, Scott May and Kent Benson on TV back in the 70’s. Man, that was a long time ago.

RIP coach.

He was certainly a character, and a superb basketball coach. RIP

As brilliant as he was I wonder if his temperament would have been tolerated in the 2020s.

I mean it wasn't tolerated in 2000. One hell of a coach who also undoubtedly was a gigantic asshole to his players, secretaries, ADs and pretty much everyone else connected to basketball.

I was hoping Archie was going to toss a chair on the court tonight. RIP to an original.

If you say you’re a Rhody fan, I know you are my brother. For you have suffered as I have suffered.

i believe that bobby knight ,when he left west point as bb coach, interviewed for bb coach at rhody. sadly he didn't get appointed

knight is only 1 of 2 { i believe] people to play on a winning ncaa bb team, ohio st, and to have coached a winning team in the ncaa tournament ,indiana do any know the other person----he coached at nc

Dean Smith played for Kansas and won it all in 1952 and he won natties as a coach at NC in '82 and '93.
