There was a first half play where it seemed like there was a TO and Fuchs then just let the guy go for a layup...that wasn't that cool, but no real complaints about the rest.

A team that takes care of the ball and makes the most of every possession is naturally going to be much easier to watch.

A lot of the holdovers that Archie previously inherited, who are now gone, were prone to turnovers, so it was frustrating to watch.

Definitely more talent than last year's edition. Actually had 3 big men that could catch the ball and should help on offense. Should be a more entertaining team to watch. Cautiously optimistic.

The only thing disappointing about tonight was the crowd. This team did exactly what you're supposed to do - dominate a lesser opponent in a meaningless game while showing absolutely nothing but better talent.

Efficient from the field. Dominated inside. Didn't settle for shots. Didn't shoot a ton from outside but were efficient as well.

Everyone came as advertised. Superior offense to last year. Better ball handling. Better inside play. Forwards who understand that you go up with the ball when you're under the hoop. Effort on D. Competent transition play.

If you think this team is finishing 14th this year you're dumber than most of the pundits that surround this league.

Nothing really to break down, but DiSano made an effort to point out Tyson Brown was a +40 tonight, the next closest Ram in +/- was in the 20s. House is as advertised: bucket getter. Kortright can run the point and is a threat to score. Ways is a great backup PG. Zek can do everything. Fuchs is a manchild. Brown is a monster. Foumena had some raw moments but has the tools to be a complete player.

Would've liked to see some sets to open up Cam or Connor, but I can't imagine they wanted to show any sets in a meaningless game.

Also the sound modulation was actually great tonight. Kids didn't even need their headphones and I could actually have a conversation. Yorke was nowhere near as annoying as usual, maybe it was the exhibition or maybe he reads the board.

Holy sh*t what a difference vs last year. Multiple scoring options, multiple guys that can hit 3's, multiple guys that can finish around the rim. Don't care about the opponent, I was strictly watching our guys. No way I see us finishing in the basement of this league.

Over the years, multiple teams have lost preseason exhibitions to D2 teams, only to have a tournament team at years end. (Not saying we are a tournament team obviously.)

St Johns, although down 2 starters, lost to D2 Pace. Like us, they have almost a whole new team.

Louisville (granted they are in rough shape) also lost to a D2 team.

I just won't be surprise if we struggle in first half half and end up winning by 8-15.

We did not have an exhibition last year work out the kinks and we lost our first two home games.

Hopefully tomorrow is used to see what we have, adjust some things, and come back prepared for CCSU.

I think Arch has a bit of an edge with all the experts picking us 11-15th , he sounds confident in the group

Yes, exactly. The players seemed to have fun, enjoy each other. No apparent (bad body language)head cases. Of course that is easy in a blow out. The stink has left the building. I see depth, no human turnover machines, players can move, catch and shoot. Wow real basketball is back! Very likable and good watch. As we open for real on Monday, approaching a corner in the road, way too early to say we turned the corner, but optimism has replaced the stink. Go Rhody!

It is really nice that there is a general feeling of optimism about our team and program at this time.
I do agree that this roster has more talent, depth, and size than what we had last season.

We did what we needed to do and what was expected of us last night against a bad Div.2 team.
I am still going to pump the brakes, and not get too excited over that victory nor am I going to be too concerned about our reported poor performance against Harvard.

The long anticipated start to the season begins on Monday, the first 3 games are against 2 NEC teams and 1 MAAC team.
So of course, I would be very disappointed if we don't win all those games at home.
Our real test will come at the Mohegan Sun.

From all the reports, the staff did a good scouting job with our additions in the portal, jucos, and freshman recruits.
Especially Austin finding a player like Fuchs overseas very late in the game and able to close on him.
