Wild finish. Bryant went ahead with under a minute left. Brown marched down the field and scored to retake the lead with 13 seconds left on the clock.

We've gone from 24th to 26th in the Stats poll released today and went from receiving votes to tied for 25th in the coaches poll.

#26/t25 Rhode Island at Brown Saturday for the Governor's Cup and RI state championship

Wow, complete reshuffle of the polls for the CAA after this crazy weekend.

Rhode Island is skirting the 25/26 spot in both polls. New Hampshire came down to Earth and is placed just one spot ahead of Rhody in both polls. Villanova fell hard out of both polls. Elon is not represented in the Coaches poll at all, but is one spot ahead of UNH and URI in the Stats poll.

Delaware and William & Mary still enjoy a fairly high ranking in both polls.

Albany receiving a good amount of votes in both polls.

Also interesting:
standings01.jpg
Of all the CAA teams URI has left to play, only Albany is in the top half of the standings as of today.

All of the rest of the teams are in the bottom half of the standings.

Taking a look at this week's two deep:

Jaden Griffin has been replaced by Ja'Den McKenzie. I don't remember an injury issue with Griffin in the Bryant game, so I just assume this is a reordering of the depth chart. Ja'Den has the most running attempts on the season so far on our team, so this would make sense.

We've got a little bit of a restructure at WR. Marquis Buchanan has flipped with John Erby, with Buchanan now the top listed number 2 receiver and Erby listed as the backup 3.

Malachi Burby is listed as one of our two starting defensive lineman. He was also in line for the start last week but didn't play

I think ESPN’s stats are a little off for Griffin

Redshirt Freshman Marquis Buchanan had a career game vs Bryant with a game high 9 receptions and game high 111 receiving yards

Kahtero Summers had the 2nd most receptions in the game with 4

The most receptions by any Bryant player was 3

Marquis caught more in the Bryant Game than he did in all the other games combined this season to date

Let's see if he has another big game vs Brown. My guess is he does.

They always have those funny extra point formations…
Not URI, specifically, but all teams.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a trick play out of one.

Rhody just snapped it with like 7 players way off on the LHS.
They did not get the 2-pointer.

Annnnnnd... URI's Defense is back on the field.

Hill has been disappointing this year <-- understatement of season. Expected a lot more than this from a 7th year player who was supposed to have a fire in the belly and aspirations of the first playoff appearance in 3 decades.

Brown sideline commentator stating how Brown's time of possession in the first half was double URI's... sounds like he has a PhD in Football out there.

Well, we're getting thoroughly outplayed by those nerds who seem to want it more than what URI is showing. Extremely lucky to even be in this game right now. Certainly not looking like a team fighting to earn a post season bid.

URI's Defense is absolute toast at this point. They are winded. They need, just a TINY bit of help from their offense to be really effective, and every game they seem to get none from this offense, Hill specifically, throwing bombs down the field on 3rd down instead of simply trying to convert them.

It technically wouldn't knock them out of the playoff picture, because it is a NONSENSE non conference game that means absolutely jack ___

But there was a moment where this was looking like an extension of the Villanova game, and that was definitely concerning.

It would also knock them out of the top-25 as well, but again, that doesn't ultimately have any bearing on the playoffs if they won 4 out of 5 of their last CAA games.

They ultimately have to find a way to win 4 more CAA games, and that will determine their playoff picture.

I disagree that this game has no bearing on the playoffs. We are basically only allowed 3 losses and this would be loss #3. We need to win this one. At Albany and even at Towson will be tough, this one can’t be the one they lose.

Correction: we are only allowed 2 CAA losses. Not 3.

And we already have one loss. So we are allowed one more.

All that matters is how you place in the Conference. FBS, Ivy League particularly have no bearing on this.

7-4 overall, and 6-2 in the CAA is a playoff team. Which would also imply a top 5 finish in the Conference.

7-4 overall, and 5-3 in the Conference, history being any indication, usually means URI getting passed over.

I admit that a loss against Bryant, who will be CAA next year, would have looked bad. Fortunately, we took care of business.
