Re: Bunky
He was 78.
Other dinosaurs who still listen to terrestrial radio can hear KMac on WPRO’s Dan Yorke show in a few minutes.
KMac has his own show at 6pm and will certainly talk about him.

Sad to hear the news. What a good guy. Loved talking hoops. Especially college hoops. I would always pick his brain about URI and I always thought he gave great answers. He would always tell me about Pee Cee too and I say who cares and he laugh and say you got to give credit when it’s do.

Re: Bunky
I have his book on Bob Cousy, just ordered the last one (Glory Days) as well as others on Herren, Pitino, the 78 Sox, Fall River Dreams, his personal memoir, and the Hope team. Going to have some great reading!!
I was not aware he had Alzheimers. KMac got a little choked up, and I have to admit, I’m feeling it too.
Billy was a Rhode Island institution, for sure.
RIP

Re: Bunky
I enjoyed his work. Especially Where he warned South County of the invasion of CT license plates coming over the border in summer.

Not a fan of his writing but i always read his Saturday for what it's worth. I don't think he had an anti URI agenda like some people accuse. He seemed like a nice guy. The Chris Herren part of the Kevin Mac hour is worth a listen. He was there when he was 16 and the bad times too.He had Alzeimers for the last few years which is brutal for anyone who experienced it

Re: Bunky
CBS had a little spotlight on Bill during their podcast last Friday. I clipped it and sharing it here.

Re: Bunky
Bill was a very good person. My mom used to work cleaning his house in Edgewood when he was married to his ex. When I was going to URI he gave me a tour of the Projo sports and news departments and talked to me about what it takes to be a reporter and columnist. Every time I would see him, mostly at Healy's New stand in Wakefield he would always stop and talk and ask how my mom was.
