I would naturally prefer Pride, but would settle for Always.
He is a shooter with 3-years left and plenty of upside.

Indeed would take Pride in a heartbeat

Also another thing I realized with a tweet is that Always is part of the top 50 freshman in JUCO on this list

Link to the fab 50 list-> https://www.jucorecruiting.com/fab-50-juco-freshmen

Buru isn’t a part of it due to him sitting out his first year because of Australia’s Covid restrictions leaving the country so he’s a R-Fr

Buru appears on the National Junior College Athletic Association webpage because he is an actual JUCO All American, awarded last week, 2nd team:

https://www.njcaa.org/sports/mbkb/2022- ... cans/index

Most people do not actually categorize by 1st team, 2nd team, 3rd team for this. They just refer to them as "JUCO All American". As you said, as a freshman, pretty fantastic.

Tyson Brown's teammate, Jadrian Tracey, who we were in the mix for but declared for Oregon, is honorable mention, still qualifies as a "JUCO All American" however.

On that jucorecruiting.com website, Buru is listed 5 spots below Tyson Brown, at #29 for their Top-100 JUCO list:

https://www.jucorecruiting.com/2023-juco-top-100

Tracey is #42.

I think he has good stats. The only problem I see with him, is it seems like he is always looking for that next "step". That next place to go to. Like I conquered NEO, so now it's time for me to go Div 1. After I conquer that school, time for me to go to the next level, etc, etc. So, if he comes here, he doesn't see this place as his final destination, he already has eyes on his next destination.

The article jcru posted from April 4 mentions that Cal is still on him, after hiring Madsen from Utah State. But according to Rhody Vault as of April 11, and RT by Wright, his Top 3 seems to be URI, Oakland and Chattanooga.

Obviously Pride closed the door on us. We aren’t closing any doors on Pride if he wanted to come here. He would be the best player on the team.

Wright noted that he’s narrowed down somewhere around 10 D-I offers to a top-5 list. Those schools are Oakland University, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, the University of Texas-San Antonio, the University of Rhode Island and the University of California at Berkeley.

The interesting part with Cal is that they just announced the hiring of Utah Valley’s head coach, Mark Madsen. Madsen led Utah Valley to the Final Four of the NIT tournament this year and Wright was considering going there. Now that Madsen is at Cal, Wright has put the Golden Bears in his top-5 list of destinations.

“(Madsen)’s been talking to me about having a strong interest in me going there,” Wright said. “So we’ll see how all of that shakes out.”

That is a positive sign. We get Buru, I think we can be very very selective with the last open scholarship. Some lights out knock down shooter or someone of that ilk. Or just hold it to recruit a frosh.

Nothing to really form an opinion here.
Count me out on a combo guard playing PG. I’ve seen that show before. We need a true facilitator and playmaker at PG.
Isn't that what he is? A PG facilitator?

6.4 assists per game, 2 turnovers per game = 3.3 A/TO

I do not follow this like I used to, and JCRU do not think I am being hypocritical here as it might sound like I am, but I was hoping for Pride, you guys got my hopes up there. But Oakland and Chattanooga were the other two finalists. Yes stars do not matter much but who else is recruiting them usually does. Kortright's list out of high school was much better than this list. Let's hope he is underrecruited and turns out to be a good player. Welcome aboard Always and pardon my cynicism above as I have not seen you play for one second.

Would Always Wright be in this same Top 100 Listing? It includes both Freshmen and Sophomores, correct?
Maybe just not in it because he is a Freshman and Brown and Naivalurua had 2 years to develop statistics?
