URI great and Warwick Native Steve Furness was a rookie DL on that Pittsburgh Team in 1972 when Franco Harris made the incredible catch. Franco Harris was also a Rookie.
In 1978 Paul Moser, URI RB, drafted 8th round, was on the Steelers,
Along with Furness. Two URI greats on the same NFL Team.
“That play really represents our teams of the ’70s,” Harris said after the ”Immaculate Reception" was voted the greatest play in NFL history during the league's 100th anniversary season in 2020.
