Fairfield to open its new arena this week

Fairfield University will open its long awaited Leo D Mahoney Arena this Friday. The on campus $51M venue will have 85,000 sf of space with a capacity of 3,500 for basketball games. It was 100% donor funded. Its opening will bring Stags men's basketball entirely back to campus after having played most all its games for the last two decades in the far larger than needed 10,000 seat municipal arena in nearby downtown Bridgeport.
