Awesome. Wow imagine if we had a new stadium and could actually sell more than 7k tickets. The new East stands have to be a priority of the new president, we all know Thorr and Fleming would love it.

Last year with the tops of the East stands tarped off, a sellout was 5778. Not sure if they'll be tarped off again this year, but I assume so. Less than 6000 capacity in the CAA is unacceptable

Selling games out is good, especially in early July and especially when the program continues to show year over year improvement.
Gives the AD and President more incentive to lay the groundwork for the Investments needed.
I’d expect Delaware to sell out early on.

No game for Rhody this weekend but this is a good one today between 2 ranked CAA Teams
No. 6 Delaware at No. 16 William & Mary
RELATED: Game Preview
A great matchup for two playoff contenders out of the CAA. Delaware is 5-0 with an FBS win vs. Navy. William & Mary is 4-1 with an FBS win vs. Charlotte and an FCS loss vs. Elon. The Blue Hens look to continue positioning for a playoff seed. This will be their toughest FCS opponent to date, and it’s on the road. But it did play extremely well in a dominant road win at Rhody earlier this season. The passing attack averaging nearly 300 yards a game will be tested by a talented secondary led by Ryan Poole and Jalen Jones
W&M’s offense features a strong rushing attack, plus QB Darius Willson looks better throwing the ball. The Tribe averages 241.0 yards on the ground a game. While Delaware’s high-flying offense gets a lot of love, its rushing defense has been stout by allowing 122.8 YPG. I think the Blue Hens offer a bit more explosiveness offensively and have the QB advantage in Nolan Henderson. And if the UD defense can force Wilson to beat them with his arm, that should lead to a road win.

In this week's two deep the running backs have swapped places with Marques DeShields listed as the starter and Jaylen Smith listed as the backup. Darius Savedge has gone from top option at third receiver to backup at the second wide receiver position and John Erby has gone from backup at the second wide receiver to top spot as third wide receiver. Westley Neal is back on the two deep as a starter on the defensive line with Dylan Brown going back to his backup role

Was glad to see Westley back on the depth chart. Also good to see Scibelli on the depth chart. I believe it was him that went down during the Brown game, forcing us to play our third left guard.RhowdyRam02 wrote: ↑1 year ago In this week's two deep the running backs have swapped places with Marques DeShields listed as the starter and Jaylen Smith listed as the backup. I didn't get a chance to see much of the Brown game live, although I listened to a good majority on the radio broadcast. I then went back and watched the replay (without sound). I noticed that Savedge wasn't involved. I went and checked the box score and it appears he wasn't listed as a participant. Is he dealing with injuries or is it simply a matter of other guys seeing the field more as the season progresses?

I don't know if I would say "must win" but I would imagine we probably need 2 of the 3 against Elon, William and Mary and UNH. Would also probably need to win out against Monmouth, Maine and Albany.

Re: GM 6 Football vs Elon 1PM Saturday Oct 15 2022 ALUMNI/FAMILY DAY WEEKEND
I think it’s a must or critical win because the New Hampshire, William & Mary and Monmouth games are all on the road.
For URI to achieve a FCS Invite we must win games like this on our home field. If it was at Elon I’d say not a must win.

So if we lose today we go to 1-2 then we would have to go 4-1 the rest of the way with road games at undefeated UNH, Monmouth, William & Mary, and home vs Maine and Albany. Very tough task.RhowdyRam02 wrote: ↑1 year agoYeah, we should be able to make the playoffs with one more loss

Maine: the ultimate bane of URI football, the annual spoiler team.
They were the spoilers the Stowers season. They were spoilers a year ago. And these were not road games, mind you, they should up at your house. It's like they show up and make your home a block party.
Then you are talking Undefeated UNH at home, and W&M that just picked off Delaware.
So, yeah, don't lose today.

Hill went to the ground too soon on the first drive on 2nd down. Stopped on 3rd then had to punt. Good stop of Elon on their first series.

Can Terry Lynch just shut up??
The ball
was going backwards
because it ricocheted off of the Elon player standing in front of him.
How can you not see that on multiple view replays??

Nice win for the first game I was able to attend this year. Big second half. Just questioned the punts at the 30 yard line 4th and shorts. Should have went for it.

Re: GM 6 Football vs Elon 1PM Saturday Oct 15 2022 ALUMNI/FAMILY DAY WEEKEND
Hill had a situation with the "Tom Brady Oakland Raiders Game" rule, the "Tuck Rule" so to speak, where they initially ruled a fumble and the defender went the distance of the field for a TD.
From the very first replay, Lynch was saying, "the ball went backwards, see the ball is on the ground behind Hill, that means it was a fumble". He kept saying it over and over again, even as they were showing the replays.
The replay from in front of Hill showed that he not only moved his arm forward, but he released the ball like he was throwing it, and it hit the player in front of him square in the chest and fell to the ground. Clearly, not a fumble. Upon looking at that replay, you were just looking at the other replay for a confirmation of when he opened his hand, to see if they correspond to one another. Where the ball was on the ground had nothing to do with it at all.
The officials overturned the play and Lynch was still going on about it on the air, "I don't know what they are seeing, the ball went backwards, that's a fumble". Ugh.
I realize the announcers are trying to be "fair" but some weeks it just sounds like they are selling the other team's bad calls and bad plays, in some misguided sense of "fairness". Please, just stop it.

Attendance was 5415. Simply not enough for a CAA team, and we lost revenue because the state is too busy investing $100 plus million in the Dump and building a soccer stadium for out of state developers to let the state university have proper facilities

With that low of an attendance number, there was still a huge line to get in at the south end zone. The line didn’t fully clear till the end of the first quarter. That is something that needs to be addressed.
