There are rumors out there that they may try to move up to the late 1st round. I have no idea what they might do.

I think there are a couple teams in the 20 to 30 range with multiple first round picks that don't want to take them all. The Celtics could probably easily get in that range if they wanted, by trading a future first. I'd kind of recommend against it, because by that point in the draft (pick 20 and beyond), there isn't a huge difference between player quality there and at picks in the 50s. It's varying degrees of longshots, stashed euro players and injured or underperforming guys you hope bounce back.

I am curious to see how Holmgren plays next season. Normally, I would think his body frame is too thin and he’d get beat up. But, he has the skill set to play outside - which is how the game has been trending anyway.

Most books took the 1 pick off the board last night Smith was a big fav then Paolo moved close to him then Smith re-emerge this morning and I think it will be him

Anyways, Baldwin definitely getting drafted. I’d be very surprised if Martin gets drafted and Fatts might as well be making plans for Europe.

Baldwin has potential so I wouldn’t be surprised to see a GM take a chance on him in the 2nd round, or even late 1st, maybe. I think the 1st is a long shot, though.

Martin has excellent athleticism but I am not sure if his 3 point jump shot and handle are good enough right now for him to get much playing time.

I think Fatts could do well in Europe. His quickness can drive those Euro guards crazy.

It will be interesting to follow how their careers go.

Brogden would be a nice pick up. Weren’t the Celtics rumored to be interested in him when they were looking to move Fournier? Or, was it Heyward? I can’t recall.

I read earlier that the Clips are dangling Kennard out there for a possible trade. He would be a good pick up. Or, Huerter.

But, maybe Stevens will sit tight on making a move until after the draft. I wonder.

Martin was the only NBE player taken and not until the 2nd round. Which surprised me but, I didn’t look into how many players from the NBE were draft eligible so, just an impression on my part. Sure different though from the days of Ewing, Iverson, Coleman, Carmelo, etc. Maybe it’s a NBE trend or just cyclical? I haven’t paid close attention so, I will guess it is cyclical, for now.

Good night for VCU and high major/mid-majors - especially if you include Gonzaga (a P5 type basketball program in a high major conference).
