Maybe there is still some gray areas regarding Ant's academics.

I love that expression. A true classic..."paper work"....like, there's no "people" involved...just these stubborn pieces of paper that can't seem get their gish together. Can this thing just be pinned to the top? If so, might actually get to 25, barring a definitive 'not coming' announcement' vs the current 'not coming, no announcement' strategy

Maybe the kid actually had to take and pass some classes. He is responsible for his own academic performance; not URI or the NCAA or UNC for that matter.Jersey77 wrote: ↑1 year agoOr possibly neither.Billyboy78 wrote: ↑1 year ago I'm still not sure who to blame here. Well...to go from 15 to 20....requires 133%....not a lot of people have that kind of sticktoitiveness....ramster wrote: ↑1 year agoThat’s what they said about 15 pagesNYGFan_Section208 wrote: ↑1 year agoIt's never easy getting to 20 pages....it's not for the casual fan...
I have faith though, I can see this getting done. The only thing that could derail that is an official announcement of not coming. Would seem to be a very last resort for Team Stealth. If that happens, might get a page or two spurt and that's it until/unless he plays someplace else. More likely there's periodic speculation shots that will draw a few comments and it just builds that way, with speculation about "number of years left", adding to the volume.

I really don’t get this. All powers knew his academic issues at N.C. One would think that the community college courses he took would have been agreed to by all concerned . .Eg. If he passed the agreed to courses he would be admitted and be eligible.UCH21377 wrote: ↑1 year agoMaybe the kid actually had to take and pass some classes. So, did he fulfill his “agreed to” community college commitments ; it should not be this difficult now, he either did or he didn’t

So if you read between the lines, or simply Archie's statement, the University isn't accepting some of his credits for transfer.

Re: Anthony Harris (UNC —>> URI)
If you go back about a month or so ago in this thread Miller said it was with URI Admissions. If you read between the lines now Miller said it is with URI Admissions. What exactly is the issue who knows and nobody should. That is all within the privacy rights of the person seeking admission.

Yea it can't be URI admissions, why let the kid take courses that ultimately wouldn't be transferable? I feel like it's on Anthony, in my opinion.McRam wrote: ↑1 year agoI really don’t get this. Re: Anthony Harris (UNC —>> URI)
This can’t be uri admissions or it means that Archie did not get the courses cleared before the semester. That is not likely.
Never understood why Ant was not taking courses in R.I for the first semester as a non matriculated student or at a judo /community college in RI. Wouldn’t that have made sense?
Clearly there is more to this than we know as there is no logic to the way this entire saga has developed.

Miller on Anthony Harris -- 'We're working through a couple of those final pieces.'
Harris is not currently enrolled for second semester. #URI still hopes to have him here at some point. #Rams still hoping to resolve transcript issues.

Re: Anthony Harris (UNC —>> URI)
He was supposed to take Basketweaving 110: Introduction to Basketweaving. Instead, he took Basketweaving 103: A Beginners Guide to Basketweaving.
Dr. Carothers called and said, just let him demonstrate the making of a basket.
So, Ant sunk a 12 foot jump shot, and URI Admissions docked him a credit.

Archie begins by saying that there is a problem with "him and family" and ends by admitting that it is "academics". Archie's admission surprises me. FERPA.

Re: Anthony Harris (UNC —>> URI)
Let's say he gets cleared this week. Since his problem seems to be academics, do we think he will suddenly catch up on his class work after being behind by a week or two? Or if the plan is to have him come here to sit and get ready for next year, do we think that he'd come here and just be a student and not play basketball this year? I know it took me a while, but I think I can finally say this is over.

Re: Anthony Harris (UNC —>> URI)
Not to be an ass but am I the only one that doesn’t care if Harris never shows up. He hasn’t played a college basketball game in over a year, turning 23 this year, injury history, non-factor at UNC, clearly an academic liability and he’s not going to be here when we make our next tournament run.
I like my academic liabilities to at least be potential cornerstones pieces.
What’s Harris ceiling at this point, slightly better Biggie Minnis?

A still 22 year old fully healthy guard who did contribute as a Tarheel when healthy on a championship level roster. Recruited by a hall of fame coach. He’s still worth a shot.

You'd have to think one way or the other we hear whether or not he'll be part of the team this semester during tonight's coach's show, assuming Archie is asked about it. He really can't start the semester much later than now and be successful
