After yet another tough to watch loss, Rhody stays on the road as they head to the woods of St. Bonaventure, NY to take on the Bonnies. In the Rams’ last game at George Washington, according to my calculation they lead for only 39 seconds in that game. As we are all painfully aware, they have only 1 win in their last 9 games. Conversely, the Bonnies are winners of 5 in a row including a home & home sweep of St. Louis. Coach Mark Schmidt who is in his 15th season in Olean, plays his starters the majority of the time as they are all averaging over 30 minutes per contest. Jalen Adaway is their leading scorer & second on the team in rebounds, 15.7 & 6.3 respectively. Senior point guard Kyle Lofton facilitates with the best of them, averaging over 6 assists per game. Against UMass last week he had an eye popping 17 assists while playing all 40 minutes of the game. Big man Osun Osunniyi will cause some problems downlow for the Mitchell twins as he is averaging almost 3 blocks a game. Guard Dominick Welch is the Bonnie’s biggest threat from behind the arc & that is where he scores roughly two thirds of his points from. The Bonnies should be favored in this game by about 7.5. Rhody has won 8 of the last 11 contests against St. Bonaventure but I don’t see how URI can win this one in Olean, NY. My prediction for the final score is St Bonaventure 71 – URI 62. Go Rhody!!

Why do you have two different records in the Opponent section?

Interesting in Rankings how URI is between 120 and 149 for a gap from high to low of 29 but St Bonaventure ranges from 51-86 for a much wider gap percentage wise of 35 points.

As pointed out Spooky, the Bonnies won 5 straight games.
Meanwhile we lost 8 out of our last 9.

All 5 of their starters are better than any of ours and they are all averaging double digits.

The game is in Olean, and it probably won't be pretty.
We will be lucky if it is even relatively close.

I have no problem with the EFFORT displayed every game by ISH and Thomas as well. You need to differentiate between effort and performance. Lack of effort is inexcusable.

I just watched some of the pre-game media for Villanova-UConn. For UConn, RJ, Tyrese, and Akok are hurting, and Whaley’s sick. That’s every team right now. Everybody is banged up, and things can get ugly when you don’t have much to play for if you’re not careful. Too little, too late but I hope Rhody shows some pride and competes in these last few games. Be desperate, play hard.

Our starting guards have a combined 3 points.

When we look back on this season, we’ll say the guards were the worst we’ve had in many many years.
