Another step forward appears to be coming in the coming days as VCU and the Richmond Flying Squirrels seem poised to announce further details about their shared ballpark.

And here it is, a request for interest has been sent out for the 70 acre area that VCU's current ballpark sits on. The goal is an $80 million ballpark that would be home to VCU and AA Flying Squirrels. "The goal for a new ballpark is a capacity of 10,000, with approximately 8,000 fixed seats and room for approximately 2,000 standing room patrons. In addition, the new ballpark would feature 20 suites and 500 club seats, with adjacent private club space that would be designed to be able to accommodate additional events like meetings, receptions, parties and other events. And, obviously, the new ballpark would meet current MiLB facility standards." "Proposals are due February 15, 2022 at 3 p.m. ET, leading to another round of evaluations and a final decision on a development team by late spring or summer, but the biggest deadline calls for the opening of a new ballpark by the 2025 MiLB season."

Will be nice to see "the boys of winter" in action this time next month. The southern trips are especially nice as they usually all have solid quality video streams to follow. Am hoping that WRIU carries our home/New England games again this season. I believe last year they couldn't because there was no room to socially distance in the "press box" at Beck. In that regard, does anyone know what the current timetable/funding situation is for the rest of the upgrade project?

Ugh, god-shitting-damnit the Colonial uses FloSports...how could I forget? I feel like even smallest of small potatoes leagues at least have ESPN+ now. What D1 school is so hard up they're trying to monetize non-broadcast college baseball coverage? Welp here I go trying to hunt down an...
alternative stream before 3. All I can say is URI better be getting a cut of any CAA football money this chincy website makes.

Except 3-2 yesterday. I mean we always start slow and then rack up a bunch of A-10 wins. But it kinda looks like we definitely suck.

Rotation gets blown up, then settles. Seems like offense is the biggest question mark so far.

Has to be a historically bad start.
Have only given up less than 10 runs 4 times through 13 games, total ERA is 11.4.
6 in a row at home coming up including 3 against Bryant who has lost 8 in a row after sweeping ECU to start the year.

was # 3 - there's a video from the @RhodyBaseball twitter account of it, but it's kind of shaky, so this one of the actual grandslam is better:
