There is nothing like trying to come up with a preview for an upcoming game the day after an awful loss. Good times. The University of Rhode Island heads back home to The Ryan Center with their tails between their legs after finishing the 3-game swing with 2 losses. They take on the Georgia State Panters this coming Saturday afternoon. Hopefully Rhody does not need the crowd’s energy to get them over the hump in this game as the students are on Thanksgiving break. Georgia State is headed by third year coach Rob Lanier, who is the cousin of NBA Hall-Of-Famers Bob Lanier (& his son Emory is currently on Davidson). Once again Rhody will face a guard-oriented team with Justin Roberts, Kane Williams & Corey Allen scoring the bulk of their team’s points (all 3 are averaging 15+ per game). As a team they are averaging almost 82 points a game with their only loss being at Richmond. Corey Allen has missed his last 2 games due to a concussion and nasal fracture, but he will be fitted with a protective mask this week so expect him to be on the court this Saturday. They play a rotation of 8 players, all averaging 20 min. Forward Jalen Thomas is their only play with considerable height that plays significant minutes. Makhel Mitchell has more blocks that then entire Panthers’ team (22 to 21). For Rhody to get the win, the backcourt needs to start shooting better. Ishmael Leggett will need to battle through his current sophomore slump. In his last 4 games, he is averaging just 2.5 points per game & is shooting a paltry 10.5% from the field with 0 three-pointers. Thankfully the frontcourt has picked up the slack a bit. Rhody really needs to straighten things out & get this home win before heading out for back-to-back true road games against Harvard & then Providence. Rhody should be favored by roughly 6 in this one. I (foolishly?) see them winning but not covering the spread. URI 74 – 69. Go Rhody!

The seats that look like they're sold in the back parts of the 300 sections aren't sold. They try and sell the front part of the sections first and the 200 sections. If those start to sell, you'll notice the back parts of the 300s open up for sale. Right now, they're just trying to sell the student section seats with a special going on.

I agree. I actually thought the schedule was smart because it would better prepare for A10 play better then going against top 25 teams and 300 plus teams. I have not given up hope yet. FGCU game was a kick in the face, let’s see how they respond and if they can get it back on track.
