Coach Reiss deserves our support and attention. She is building something special - This is a coach that has the potential to build a URI basketball program into a legacy. Women's basketball may be "behind" the men's game; but it's catching up in leaps and bounds.

Was looking into tickets for WBB. All I see is general admission? Is that all they sell?

I always thought the women’s locker room was better / more appealing than the men’s.

These improvements should only widen that gap.

Coach Reiss has earned these improvements because of the way this team has performed under her leadership, the outstanding job she has done in creating a winning culture, recruiting student athletes that are buying into what she is selling and she is meeting with donors and impressing them with her vision. If the WBB locker room is better than the MBB locker room, so be it. She has earned everything that she has gotten here and has the program in a position to make a whole lot of noise this year. There is plenty of room on the bandwagon.

I haven’t followed the women’s team closely but I have keeping track of Reiss. She’s got incredible energy and is an outstanding promoter of her team not to mention of URI in general.

Everything you say is true and if you want to see how a program is built from the ground up, start following the team. You will not be disappointed.

In fairness, if I had one of those jerseys I'd wear it all over the place too. Our apparel situation is just so poor. Can only get basketball jerseys, no football or baseball, can't get a regular old baseball hat like the team wears. Basic things you take for granted being able to buy are just not things we sell

Elmore is an incoming grad transfer from Seton Hall. She began her career at Syracuse. Last year Elmore was 1st team All Big East.

Coaching at any level usually contains three components.

1. Recruiting the right players into your system.

2. Having them buy into your system

3. Putting them in a position to play to their strengths

Looks like Coach Reiss has it figured out.

WBB is going to be very new to some folks, but based on season ticket sales and the buzz around the program, she has an opportunity to make
it relevant both here at URI and on the national stage.

#Plenty of room on the bandwagon...

KINGSTON, R.I. — Rhode Island has released its 2021 non-conference schedule, announced Tuesday. The 13-game slate is highlighted by a trip to The Cavalier Classic Thanksgiving weekend to face Virginia and Long Beach State as well as three Ivy League matchups.
Rhody opens the season in year three under reigning Atlantic 10 coach of the year Tammi Reiss on Nov. 9 at Dartmouth. The Rams then welcome Merrimack for their home opener for the first of six home games at the Ryan Center on Nov. 12. Coppin State (Nov. 14), Princeton (Nov. 20), Harvard (Nov. 23), Hartford (Dec. 7) and Boston University (Dec. 19) are all set to make the trip to Kingston. In the last two seasons under Reiss, Rhody is 17-6 at the Ryan Center.
The Rams hit the road for games at Providence (Nov. 17), Holy Cross (Dec. 2), Buffalo (Dec. 5), and Maine (Dec.12).
Reiss and assistant coach Sharnee Zoll-Norman visit their alma mater for The Cavalier Classic. Rhody will face Virginia and Long Beach State as part of a four-team tournament that also includes A-10 member Richmond on Thanksgiving Weekend. Reiss, an All-American with the Cavaliers, holds the program record for 3-point FG percentage. She led Virginia to three ACC regular-season titles, two league tournament championships, and three Final Four appearances. Zoll-Norman started every game of her career at Virginia as a 1000-point scorer. She's the all-time leader in assists (785), breaking the ACC record and passing Virginia great - and former teammate of Reiss - Dawn Staley.
Rhode Island posted an 11-8 record last season, and returns A-10 Co-Player of the Year Emmanuelle Tahane, as well as Second Team All-Conference honoree Marie-Paule Foppossi, and All-Rookie member Catherine Cairns.
Reiss loaded up the roster in the off season, announcing four incoming transfers, all from power-5 programs. BIG EAST All-First Team member Desiree Elmore joins the Rams from Seton Hall, while guards Chanell Williams (Providence) and Rebecca Demeke (NC State), and center Anna Dreimane (Texas A&M) all expect to make a major impact for the Rams.

The Ryan Center is expected to welcome fans at full capacity this season. For information on season ticket prices or single-game tickets, click here.
As a continued partnership with the URI Harrington School, all home games for the Rams will be streamed to ESPN+.

Princeton on November 20.
They were a top 25 potential ranked team last year preseason, but of course the Ivy League did not play at all due to COVID.
