What’s the word on this kid? Is he likely to stay home or go outside Rhode Island?

No idea if he is likely to stay close to home or not, but he is a Tolman kid who is gathering lots of offers recently. Currently ranked 30th by rivals with 4stars

Does he go to Tolman or Phelps school?
Or did he play at Tolman this year and transferring to Phelps for next season?

He’s at Phelps school. Been there for at least a year if not more. Originally from Pawtucket. He is going to be out of our range most likely. Getting a lot of interest already.

I wish Bill had mentioned that Rhody also offered him as another close to home option. Edit: he did - in the section with Thomas. My bad for skimming.

No one is out of our reach if we pay them enough.

Some would argue that this has *always* been the world of college basketball. At least now, you know who's signing the checks.

I do as well. But hear me out. We land Miranda and Power, two local kids who are top players. We compliment them with a top PG and solid SG's. They would take us to where we want to go and in turn, they would get to where they want to go. It would be a win win. I know, I'm dreaming. But Archie Miller has me dreaming for the stars again.

Sort of an arrogant statement by him. There's a lot more that goes into committing than NBA dreams. Hope we comes here too. There's a path through Kingston.

I'm not a scout, but watching his tape, I kind of think his game is a bit rough around the edges. Size is size, so hell, maybe he will be one-and-done. But I think he's going to need more than one year to gain size and weight, and then, to get used to that size and playing at it.

I'm voting USC. SoCal is to easy to recruit to when you've grown up in Pawtucket, and Enfield can sell him on being the next Evan Mobley.

high-upside 7-footer from Rhode Island, Isaiah Miranda visited Kentucky in December, and top UK assistant Orlando Antigua made a few trips to New England to see him play during the season. Miranda doesn’t have a Wildcats scholarship offer yet, but he has continued to list them as one of the programs recruiting him the hardest — along with UConn and Southern Cal — and Kentucky clearly has a high level of interest. Miranda is still scratching the surface of his full potential, and UK’s coaches will be watching closely over the course of this spring and summer to chart his progress toward a possible scholarship offer heading into his senior season. The 2023 class is light on high-profile centers, so Miranda is definitely one who will stay on UK’s radar.

Thanks for posting, RF1.
Would be a great story if he stays home, plays for State U and is integral in our resurgence. But, I expect he’s destined for a P5 program.
That said, in the time of Potalpalooza, you never know if he comes back around.
It is what it is. I won’t lose any sleep over it. We will survive and thrive regardless, imho. Best of luck to the young man.

Based on these comments from him,
Miranda said the Hoyas, Trojans and Bruins have been working hardest to secure his services while in-state options like Providence and the Rams “haven’t been as consistent.”
I expect he is headed out of state. Seems like both PC and URI think the same and they subsequently are no longer aggressively pursuing him.

Hmmmmmm….
From the article: Rhode Island: “The chance to play for my home state and in front of my family and friends is something really intriguing to me. Plus my AAU teammate Sebastian Thomas is the point guard and we always had great chemistry.”
