Scenario for Saturday's Games:

With the two wins over UMASS Friday, Rhode Island clinched a spot in the Atlantic 10 Championship. The Rams can possibly win the A-10 North division.

If URI wins Saturday to sweep UMass, the Rams will win the division. Rhody would be 14-6 with a victory, making it impossible for either La Salle or Saint Joseph's to catch the Rams.

If Rhode Island loses the series finale tomorrow, it would finish with a 13-7 conference record, good for a .650 winning percentage. If Saint Joseph's beats La Salle Saturday, URI would still win the division. If La Salle wins the game, Rhode Island would finish second in the division.

URI defeats UMass in the final game of the series and regular season 16-1 in 7 innings. Clinch the A-10 North division regardless of SJU-LaSalle game outcome. Final regular season records of 27-24-1 overall and 14-6 in A-10 play.

It wasn’t just one game that St Joseph’s beat LaSalle in. St Joseph’s took the entire 4 game series from LaSalle this past 3 days. That was the only way LaSalle could miss making the A10 Tournament and St Joseph’s get in.

St Joe’s had to win all 4 and LaSalle had to lose all 4. A disaster for LaSalle.

Rhody took all 4 from UMASS too. 4 days ago URI getting 1st place and LaSalle being out was not a very likely scenario.

Our hitting, defense and pitching has been well tested. The road to the NCAA Tournament for the A10 Teams is through winning the A10 Tournament

Richmond was pushed to build a new stadium but it didn't happen. Braves moved to Gwinnett County where they built a new stadium in a growth area of the city of Atlanta. Put the AAA Team close to the MLB Braves so that they could make quick moves up and down with players as opposed to having the AAA Team in Richmond.

St. Joe's losing is self-inflicted. 2 outs in 1st - give up single, K with a wild pitch w/ runners advancing that should have ended inning, RBI single, 3 run home run. 2nd inning - VCU scored 4 runs on 1 hit, 4 errors. Ouch...

Seems a bit light on the recognition of URI to win the North Division and yet have no player on the 12 player 1st team.
Hope we win the A10 Tournament and get the NCAA Bid
This could fire up the Rhode Rams especially in Sonny Ulliana who hit .377 for 10th in conference.
