Rhody heads home to the Ryan Center after a disappointing 1-2 road trip. As everyone who follows this team is painfully aware of, turnovers are killing their chances of winning games. Over their last 5 games they are averaging almost 20 TOs per contest. That is appalling, especially for a guard-oriented team. The only person I trust with the ball is Fatts right now and even he is averaging over 3 TOs per game in A10 play. I think I yell “Hold on to the fucking ball” or “WTF kind of pass was that” at the tv at least 4 or 5 times a game these days. Ahhh, good times. I would like to say that this next game against George Mason gives URI a chance to get things back in order, but who the hell knows this season. Rhody has won 6 of the last 7 against the Patriots & hopefully they will continue this run against them. Mason did win in Amherst even with shooting 61% from the line & turning the ball over 19 times. Weird, that kind of box score looks vaguely familiar except they got the W. The Patriots are coming off a decimation of La Salle by 30+ so they may be coming in to Kingston riding high. George Mason are led by Jordan Miller, but the team spreads out their scoring with 5 players in double digits. Somehow Rhody has a better shooting percentage in all aspects (FG%, FT%, 3P%) but URI turns the ball over more (no surprise there). Other than the FT shooting, was extremely pleased with Makhel’s last game. Hopefully he can keep that up when he goes up against Josh Oduro, who has improved quite a bit from his freshman to sophomore year. My prediction, URI wins 74-70 & they “only” turn the ball over 17 times. Wear a Mask & Go Rhody!

I wonder if we will ever land a legitimate player from RI. There has been plenty of D1 talent the last few years, and we've gotten zero.

I'm chalking it up to us not heavily recruiting them / kids wanting to get out of the small state to carve their own path.

GMU was only favored by 5 last game vs Lasalle and crushed the Explorers by 32

This could be a tough game for URI to win, URI being favored by 7 points seems too high to me. Hope I’m wrong of course.

Yeah I checked the latest top 100 prospects on an NBA scouting site and no sign of Fatts or really anyone else from the A10 that I recall. Probably just a due diligence trip, maybe they are also scouting the Celtics for an upcoming game and are killing 2 birds with one stone?

No offense to Fatts but he ruined his chances of getting drafted this year already. You can't have a 32.5 FG% and a 20.7 3PT% and expect anything. Those are AWFUL numbers for a point guard AND a Senior. His playstyle in my opinion is selfish and constantly trying to be the hero (which he doesn't need to do).
