So unfortunate that the summer leagues and rookie camps were canceled that year. Great story though.

Great write up. I'm surprised he doesn't have a copy of the game he played in. Anybody here have a copy to send it to him?

Great article , didn’t know he shared the court with Cuttino in his only NBA game !!

I always thought if he got in the right situation he could have played a few years in the league

that was my biggest takeaway, that they played against each other. Tyson bricking his first free throw and Cat, also in the game, telling him to relax

At first I was surprised he didn't have a copy of the video of him playing, but then I remember that Netscape was still a big time browser for the internet around 1998, so I'm actually not that surprised. The world wide web didn't have much content on it yet, never mind a lot of videos like it does today.

No offense but it is absolutely unbelievable Xavier Munford had way more games in the nba than Tyson Wheeler. So many other factors and right place right time go into it I guess

Whenever Tyson's name is mentioned, I have a visual image of him taking and making a long trey from the right side-line with Roy Williams standing behind him. It was Paul Pierce's last college game. I was seated next to Homer Drew and his wife directly across from this happening at the Myriad, an arena better suited for rodeos than basketball. Cat was a wild man on the on the red-eye charter home from Will Rogers. Kansas has the classiest fans I have ever experienced, Florida State had the most classless fans I have ever experienced. Memories that have lasted a lifetime.

Sucks to be 5'9 or 5'10 in the NBA.

Pretty good article. It's so, so difficult to make it to the NBA, yet alone make a team.. kudos to Tyson. It's a difficult road, at least he had a short opportunity.
