Ishmael Leggett - whoa!
Police in Maryland on Tuesday arrested former Oregon football signee Luke Hill, and the state attorney's office has charged him with felony first-degree attempted murder, felony assault and other misdemeanor charges after he allegedly fired a gun multiple times from a car on Monday.
Sources told ESPN that Hill's intended target was Rhode Island basketball signee Ishmael Leggett, who was standing in front of his home. Leggett wasn't hurt during the incident, the sources said.
They were former classmates at St Johns College High School as per the article

Jeeeeeezzzz.
What a life altering decision that kid just made. Looking at a loooooooonnnnngggggg time behind bars.
Not sure what Leggett could have done to warrant this type of an attack.

I have a couple guesses, as I’m sure we all do, but obviously no need to speculate and get crucified.phipsiGD'11 wrote: ↑4 years ago Jeeeeeezzzz.

Geez we cant get enough players to fill our roster and now someones trying to kill the ones we got. I hope this investigation doesn't find that Ish was doing anything illegal.

Re: Ishmael Leggett - whoa!
With the NCAA allowing as of June 1st the atheltic programs to begin voluntary team workouts I would think some of these bball players will head up for URI for then. Just an assumption. So he shouldn't have to wait too much longer hopefully.

He died tragically right before coming to the
The Celtics! I think getting shot to death would be dying tragically before coming to Rhody. Would be A horrible senseless loss in both cases.

I just heard that Ish is dating the guy’s ex girlfriend. I suspect more details will come to light in the next 24 hours.

Re: Ishmael Leggett - whoa!
Leggett is very lucky he avoided a potentially serious injury or worse. This has been a crazy off season ever since basketball was cancelled in mid March. Glad he is alright. Time to get up to Kingston ASAP.

Re: Ishmael Leggett - whoa!
He was lucky not to die, let’s not sugarcoat this.
It blows my kid how a kid who was a 4* recruit previously committed to play football at Oregon could throw his life away over a teenaged girl. Absolutely crazy.

Two other guns were said to have been found at Hill’s residence, and the caliber of the gun found in the closet matched the caliber of a casing discovered at the crime scene. Seven casings in all were recovered there, and two shots allegedly struck the target’s

Re: Ishmael Leggett - whoa!
I feel bad for this kid, reading the article ramster posted, it sounds like Hill was determined to sabotage himself no matter the excuse, Oregon had already withdrew their offer based on questionable behavior going back to February. Glad the young lady involved got out while the getting was good, this guy seems determined to destroy lives, his own foremost.

The sooner this kid gets out of the DC area and to Kingston, the better for his safety.

Re: Ishmael Leggett - whoa!
I’ve had clients who have shot people. In many instances the circumstances made it necessary. In a couple of cases it wasn’t necessary. It was just evil.
It appears this attempt at murder was just evil.
Unless we learn more.
Sad.
