Why don’t you see Odusipe happening? I am not saying it will but the indications from the staff and Akeem’s contacts are that URI is a real possibility.

After this Mekhi news, does this change you're stance on adding all four?

This team is looking real thin next year they need to get some commits very soon. I really really hope there's no more transfers, or this could get ugly.

Re: '20 NY PF Abou Ousmane (Offer)
If I could just pick 4 guys video game style like you were swapping players on NBA 2K20, it would be:
Makhi Mitchell
Tre Berry
Abou Ousmane
Pure Shooter/sWing
Unfortunately, life is not a video game and that's an impossible scenario. I'm going with the assumption that Odusipe is Ogundele v2.0 and is just parlaying the hype to a P5 offer.
Makhi isn't going anywhere without his brother, which the likes of Cooley learned to his dismay.
That scenario likely bumps out Ousmane.
If the the twins balk, scramble like crazy to get both Odusipe and Ousmane, at the very minimum get Ousmane, don't come up empty handed with neither.

Very happy about the news. Does this mean the twins fell through?

Nice get. What does this mean for us going forward I wonder with the Twins and also Odusipe? I would love to restart with a young team and get Odusipe also.

This is a teammate of Berry, maybe this a good sign for him as well.

I'll wait for DC for some sort of follow up on the twins, but I am very happy with this pickup regardless. This guy was likely going to an A-10 team (URI, UMass, VCU, St. Bona, SLU) and was going to be a force in this conference. I'm glad it was Rhody.

Re: '20 NY PF Abou Ousmane (Offer)
First thing I thought from his tape was he is a poor man's Tre Mitchell -- good back to basket skills and a throwback quality to his game you don't see a lot nowadays. We haven't had that in a while since we have tended to emphasize athleticism and defense from our bigs. If, a big IF, you can retain and develop a kid like this over 2-3 years he could be a force in the A10.

It doesn’t seem likely unless Harris leaves. They would have Harris, Walker, Ousmsne and the two twins. Also wondering what position Toppin will play without Martin-small or power?

Yeah, both Ousmane and Odusipe are connected through Berry. Odusipe is the one flirting with P5, so we will see on that one.

We get both Odusipe and Berry and I’m over everything. We might be young and have a difficult year with so many young guys, but I can live with a Hurley type rebuild like we did a couple years back that led to two tourney bids.rhodyfan3000 wrote: ↑4 years ago Yeah, both Ousmane and Odusipe are connected through Berry. Think big. We do.
Love this pick up. Always been a fan of the old school center. Reminds me kind of of that Indiana center from a few years back, Thomas Bryant.

Twins still in play. I was admittedly not a huge fan out Ousmane. Hope he proves me wrong. I’ve never seen him play live, just footage.

4 schollys still open. A lot of wiggle room for Berry, Twins, and pure shooter (Murray, as Ramulous said?)

Re: '20 NY PF Abou Ousmane (Offer)
If by some miracle they picked up Murray, no one would ever remember the name Tyrese Martin ever again.
Years from now, people would say "Hey, wasn't there some guy who was given crazy amount of playing time, as a freshman and sophomore, even though he was clanking threes and producing turnovers, and he just left unceremoniously like an ingrate for absolutely no reason?"
Reply: "Yeah, I don't know. Whatever. Good riddance, we got Murray"

I’d be scrambling to get my seat back on the optimist bus! He’d have pulled off one of the epic roster flips in NCAA history. Construction bids would be rolling in on Tootell renovations.

I really like Abou. I was sitting next to TJ and Austin 2 1/2 weeks ago watching Abou and Berry play in CT. He has offensive skills.
I think I posted this before that Todd Quarles (Expressions owner) was talking to Austin about Abou. Todd thought he was a great fit.
Abou didn’t play for Expressions because he had graduated high school and hadn’t decided to do a PG year at that point. Todd said he would’ve taken him for his ‘20 team if he was eligible for EBYL.
