Need size. Sign them up.
Why did I think they were 7 footers?

Looks like PC is out of the running based on the latest tweet from their mom.

But they wouldn't be available until the '21-'22 season, correct?

I think the suspicion is they’ll get a waiver. Even if they don’t I’m guessing it is a second semester deal since they left UMD in December

So, they're not in school right now. I wasn't sure if they just left the team or left the school completely.

They entered the portal in December. That’s all I know for sure.

Doesn’t Turgeon hate us going back to the Hurley days? Would think he’d do all he can to make sure they don’t get waivers.

Well Jeff Erman I would be surprised if they did in fact come here.

Doesnt he know we are collapsing and nothing good will ever happen to us again????

We said that about a certain current big man on our roster, let’s hold back calling recruits “program changers.”

Most players who consider coming here we tend to overhype and dream of them becoming the next Mobley, Silk, Wheeler, Odom. Then they play and we want to wait another year for them to develop. We do it every year...

Exactly, that’s why I’m done getting hyped up over unproven 17/18 year olds.

Because for all we know, Leggett or a Wood could be the next Ja Morant Or busts.

With that being said, I’ll take these two twin towers any day of the week. You can’t teach height, and they sure have that.

It’s a total crapshoot.

I think the way they did this they are stuck sitting all of next year - I still want them here though because I think they will thrive in the A10.

This is also my thought. They wasted the spring semester by not enrolling somewhere. Or atleast that is how i understood the transfer rules pending exemption obviously. Or rule change.

They dropped off the team before the end of December. So they wouldn’t come in next January and miss OOC play?

It’s been widely reported that it’s almost certain that there will no longer be a requirement for first time transfers to sit out a year. All transfers should be immediately eligible. Could that change? Sure. But it’s the same reason we’re worried we’re going to see players leave this offseason.

All these years, they all told us: "big men don't grow on trees" "they aren't just wandering around waiting to be snapped up by Rhody" "if recruiting a big with size and athleticism were easy, everyone would have them"

Now, we are on the cusp of getting these two guys. All the rules just went right out the window.

Can we merge the Twins thread? They are a package deal. It’s a fact.

Is this still accurate or... ?
Only one of them is good but they are going anywhere as a package deal. They also have excessive baggage. It’s best we steer clear.
I don’t necessarily disagree with the “baggage”- they were supposedly going to be suspended before they left Maryland and some very public comments were made by their mother. URI needs the bodies, and I’m all for second chances. Maybe a few people on here will think twice before they make comments about guys quitting on their team or about involved parents. Also, instant eligibility can be good... can’t just like it when it works for you and hate it when it goes against you. There’s always a role for transfers, but I hope this program doesn’t turn into Nevada or something. It’s fun to watch guys develop from the start. Their abbreviated freshmen numbers are kind of ugly, but they’re still probably better than the ‘20s available at this time of year.

I’ve been reading about this as well. I didn’t realize all D1 athletes today except those that play football or men’s or women’s basketball are immediately eligible now when they transfer. It is being referred to as a one time transfer: no multiple transfer to try and chase a championship. While it seems likely this will be approved, since it hasn’t happened yet, it most likely won’t be in place for next season.

If they do come here, worst case scenario is they’re eligible second semester, so at least they wouldn’t have to wait the whole year to play.

Not true. Could still be approved for 2020. NCAA Council to vote in April.
From SI article:
If the NCAA Division I Council approves the proposal in April, first-time transfers starting in the 2020 academic year would no longer have to endure the long-standing “year-in-residence” in their first season at their new school. The proposal is being fast-tracked

I read that to mean if you transferred starting next year you wouldn’t have to wait a year. I hate the 1 year sit out, but the alternative will be chaos.

I think the decision is yours. These guys are looking for a program to accept them. If the staff wants them, I'm sure they will wind up in Kingston.

So I guess they have really acquired quite the reputation.

I've heard they moved around a lot in high school.

Does their mom always get too involved or something?

I would much rather get Odusipe than these two. It feels like as soon as something doesn’t go their way they will go to their mom and pack their bags. I get that they have talent and we really need good players with what we have left so I’m sure it is worth the risk if we strikeout on the pair from Tennessee.

It could be a large risk because they are twins and a package deal. If they left the program together we would clearly not have enough bigs. If the transfer rule is not changed before the season we are also left short handed. Everyone involved needs to make sure they are on the same wavelength before signing these young men. It also could turn out to be great.

You'd have to think the odds of them transferring again would be pretty low.

However the real issue might be the reason why Turgeon was going to bench them.
