8 guards in the A10 Conference play more minutes per game than Russell and Dowtin.FDshoes wrote: ↑4 years agoBillyboy78 wrote: ↑4 years agoHe's a body at guard. We have zero guard bodies on the bench. He would have seen minutes here this year. Unfortunately, I think because of this, Jeff and Fatts are toast.
The top 2 guards on just about every single team in the country play north of 30 minutes a game. Them being toast is a horrible argument.
If Russell and Dowtin are toast then rest them. Long, Martin, Toppin can all play guard - and they do.
The leader in minutes per game, Gudmunsson, killed us in rebounding and scoring just recently.
Agree, tired is a bad excuse.

The Fordham game was the ninth game in which URI has experienced the blowing of a big lead. In this case, URI took its biggest lead - 12 points - at 12:59 mark on a Tyrese Martin layup. From that point it took just under 12 minutes for the Rams to see a margin shift of 13 points with Fordham taking a one point lead with 1:08 remaining. During that time span URI had 2 TO's and hit 3-5 FT, neither bad marks. It was the terrible shooting that was the root cause of the lead reduction. On FG's it was 5-17, 29% and 2-12, 18% on 3-PT. Why when in crunch time do you take a majority of your shots - 65% - from beyond the arc? In looking at the replay, the majority of the 3 PT attempts were also taken early in the possession. Where is the coaching staff on this shooting pattern.
