Football is different than basketball in that one or two players don’t impact the game the same way (outside of maybe a QB). But still, I really don’t think talent was the issue for URI football this year and this one example among many.

Agree, for the most part, HOWEVER when there is such an obvious level of talent and you don't record a single victory its worth mentioning.
I dont think having 2 NFL prospects (out of 22 starters) automatically means you should win a natty, but at that level it should probably mean you win a few games.

Bad coaching and bad defense equals losing a lot of games.

But not winning a single conference game with their offensive talent is borderline criminal.

A comedy except for the handful of people who care about the program.

Then it's just sad.

Dorsey and Coulter were exceptional also.

Murphy and Parker are forreal.

One of the worst coached teams in football history.

This show directed by Jim Fleming and Produced by Thorr Bjorn. Still playing at Meade Stadium in 2020. Review: "Review: and remake of Ground Hog Day - except this one always has the same ending!"

Only way you make a movie out of this, is if there is a happy ending.

So far, no happy in sight.

All Americans 3, wins 2. FCS Jr WR forgoing his senior season to declare for the NFL draft...Definitely a Rhody tragedy.

All of the excitement before the Delaware game was waisted. You can’t win with a porous run defense that gave up nearly 3K yards. Poor in-game, situational coaching (vs Maine 2 years in a row) and below average QB play, equals 2-10. Fleming lost the team after the Stony Brook debacle. Changes need to be made defensively or else we’ll be 0-for the conference again next season.

Is Coulter definitely declaring for the draft? I heard that too but wasn't sure if it was official.

Unless Fleming brings in a LOT of talent on both sides of the ball, they are destined to keep losing, especially so since the strength of the team has left.

Even then, with his track record who's to say they win even with more talent?

Who knows how good the new assistants will be? Will they actually get paid more? Doubt it.

Agreed about the assistants. Apparently the OC from Holy Cross took the job. Without Parker, Dorsey (who I believe should also get an NFL look as a return specialist) & Coulter, the offense will have to more balanced. Last season we threw close to 40 times a game, not good with a QB with questionable accuracy. Still need to find a DC. 3 1A transfers: LB from BC and DL from Rutgers, RB from UMass (originally committed to Rhody) should help.

Good news about the 1A transfers.

Dorsey was/is a playmaker for sure.

If Fleming was given the best talent in the CAA, I think he can win 5 games...and Thorr would give him another extension!

We had a great buzz about the program this past year. Donors & Alumni stepped up. Fans came out and the offense put on an aerial show not seen since the Ehrhardt/Forster years, but we still couldn't win a league game. That's a tragedy.
