Ish wood possibly bishop and this kid. 4 guards? Leaves no margin for error going after the big that we desperately need.

Cox stated in interview after practice the other day that their priority is to sign someone to replace Cyril. After that he said they will take the best available player. Just because they are recruiting two guards doesn’t mean they would sign two.

David Cox on recruiting -- 'We’re going to need to replace that monster (Cyril Langevine) in the middle. That’s our biggest priority right now. Outside of that, we’ll probably take the best available players.'

I did read that presser. It was just an observation on my part. Seeing a lot offers to guards for next year but very few for wings or true big men.

Bishop is a wing. Hybrid 2/3.

Man now we're seeing a lot of mid year transfers....more than usual?

Might be good for us...they sit a year and if they are sophs that would give us 2 and a half years to play a la Walker.

Not the right thread for bishop talk but i would consider him more of a combo guard. But if he could be a hybrid 2/3 would be better. Would be giving up a few inches guarding some of the better true wings.

Bishop is not a PG (so not a combo guard). He is a 6’5” slasher. His weakness is his outside shot.
He played the Wing for Xavier. Like DC stated he would play the 2 or 3.

I brought it up here because he said offers to guards and not to wings or big men. Bishop is more of a wing.

Fair enough would rather see a little more size out of a true wing player. But would be adequate in A10 ball.

What about the kid seth towns who is going to be a grad transfer from Harvard? Ivy league player of the year a few years back before injury derailed his time there. Would be eligible day one next year as a grad transfer. Would love to see us make a push for him. True 6'7.

He’s going P5.

6’5 is good wing size imo.

My thoughts exactly Ramrod . We want his blurb to read " Reminds many of Steph Curry with his deadly outside shooting range .

While I agree, the term 'freakish athlete' is also a phrase you love to hear.
And his shot looks great in that video (highlights, I know).

I like the recruits Cox is putting together.

This is going to be the most physical, athletic, quick, defensive minded, harassing team ever to wear the Rhody blue.

Kind of reminds of Huggy's old Cincy teams, minus the criminal backgrounds.

I think Berry would fit in very well here. He would have a great chance to play big minutes after learning under Fatts for one season.

Boy, if they get this guy, better not put him up against Leggett in full speed live scrimmages. Too much physical there, they are likely to both end up in the emergency room.

Let them beat up the other teams. Put them up against Wood, who seems more of a finesse guy like Jeff.

Do we pick them off a tree or order from drive thru - “I will have 2 bigs; 1 to develop & 1 to contribute right away”.

David Cox on recruiting -- 'We’re going to need to replace that monster (Cyril Langevine) in the middle. That’s our biggest priority right now. Outside of that, we’ll probably take the best available players.'
To be fair on this take - I think Walker is more than capable of filling those extremely large shoes.

As concerning as our low post is - you still have walker and toppin along with Harris. Hurley’s last team here showed you can make a run with a ton of high quality guards.

If Tres is a dude that can bring back some full court press and running Ram basketball - I’m all for it.

Tres is definitely on Cox’s list of “best available players”. Cox will push for a commitment after next weekend’s OV.

We really need a serviceable big out of these
Remaining scholy's! Then a LIGHTS OUT SHOOTER!!
Just once sacrifice a little on the "great on ball defensive" and
Great athlete side for a passable defense great SHOOTER
Guy!! The great SHOOTER,great defender, great athlete package is a 5 star,
Usually ends up in P5! Jimmy Baron was a great SHOOTER and passable
Defense guy. Would he not be good enough to play for us now?

Btw, I'm pretty sure it's Norrance with 2 R's.

I know he goes by Tres, but we should get his name right. I think he's gonna be a member of our Ram family. Got a feeling.

Well Leggett is a good shooter.

Sheppard is a great shooter.

Devale Johnson is a great shooter.

They will all play next year.

As far as next year is concerned we should improve quite a bit.

Leggett and Sheppard will be great additions. I don’t think Johnson ever contributes much of anything to URI. Just my feel. I don’t think he is an A-10 quality player
