Yes, the game of college basketball comes complete with a lot of people who are interested in college basketball, including reporters. No need to get offended by them for writing something that should seem obvious, and could have easily been cleared up at anytime during the previous season by the URI staff if it wasn't.

Uh... Isn't it worse if he didn't redshirt? He played zero minutes for a team that went 10-15. I realize it's mostly semantics now with the new transfer rules and the extra year granted to players, but still, I'd rather have it classified as a redshirt year in case the NCAA changes its mind again about all of this in the future.

He wasn't dressed for any of the games. If it wasn't a redshirt, what was it?

His page on the official roster for 20-21 says “Did not appear in any games/Redshirted.”

That was a pretty strong reaction, maybe he was just having a bad day.

Both of these Freshmen are listed at Freshman/Redshirted on URI Roster Bios.SGreenwell wrote: ↑2 years ago Uh... Isn't it worse if he didn't redshirt? So legit questions as to why Tres would say he did not redshirt at 10:03pm on July 4, the night before his brother says he will announce his school choice at 1pm the next day (today)
Was his comment in response to Bill Koch Twitter announcing Quant’e’s announcement time and saying Tres had redshirted? Curious timing of Tres’ post “I didn’t redshirt”.
Also a previous post had referred to him reuniting with his brother in the future. Some speculated he might be transferring to PC? Some thought maybe that means reuniting in Rhode Island and being rivals? Who knows.
Why was news two weeks ago on his bother Quante Berry’s visit to PC that he had committed as leaked out by Ed Cooley, Cooley’s son and by Indiana grad transfer All Durham and by some PC posters — only to be attempted to be put back in the bottle because they were not supposed to announce?
Does Quant’e choose PC at 1pm?
Does Quant’e choose somewhere else? Then PC fans predictable say “we never really wanted him anyway?”
Does Cooley then say he accidentally fell in his pool and didn’t dive in to celebrate Quant’e’s commitment?
1pm today

As much as it's fun to crap on PC, I think there's zero chance that they're taking Tres Berry as a transfer. So yeah, I'd assume he meant that they'd be "reuniting" in the same state - it's pretty easy to hang out together on weekends. Also, that was a couple weeks ago, so who knows if Quant'e is still going to PC? (He wrote, about 3 minutes before the signing ceremony is supposed to happen.)

Has their ever been siblings on opposite sides of the intrastate rivalry before? This should be much more interesting than Obi dominating his little brother Jacob and the Rams a couple years back. Hopefully Rhody has the upper hand.

Getting hurt + outplayed at practice, would seem like isn’t a winning combo.

Koch said he was dressed for practice yesterday. I don't know how you can say he's been outplayed in practice when he hasn't practiced in quite a while. I don't know either way on him since I've never seen him play. But I'm willing to wait to see what he can do when given a chance.

This apparently was a bad recruiting decision. We r weak at the guard position after the starting 3. Yet, a limited freshman is thrown into action and is apparently ahead of Tres. It also says something when we have 3 smallish guards and could use a bigger body on some occasions and Tres is not an alternative.
Sounds like another Greg Hammond????

I am not yet ready to count him out or dismiss him. I know he was dealing with some lingering foot/ankle issues that has slowed his progress.McRam wrote: ↑2 years ago This apparently was a bad recruiting decision. Why not give him a shot when the team is stagnant?

Tres is still limited. Has lingering ankle issue

Hearing he is still several weeks away.
Obviously that can easily change one way or another.

I also wouldnt mind seeing some of the young big guys get a shot when our vets are making stupid mistakes. The Mitchells’ should not go for any steals, period. It always ends up as a foul away from the basket.

Tres should be participating at full practice soon, recovering from 2 torn tendons in his ankle.

Hard to judge by what he did yesterday, but it was encouraging. Hopefully Carey can correct his turnover problems, but if he doesn't, maybe Tres can contribute at that spot.

Charleston Southern it seems to be. It was brought up earlier by a keaney blue poster in the roster 22-23 page when I brought the same question up last night..
