It's possible we get a Co-POW this week with wins over Davidson and VCU.

Fatts averaged 21 points, 2 assists, and 4.5 steals per contest

I would guess Jordan Goodwin, from 2 win STL, would be the most likely candidate to bring home the award by himself.

Goodwin averaged 23 points, and 8.5 rebounds in wins over Richmond and GW.

Other candidates:
Kyle Lofton - averaged 17 points and 6 assists in 2 wins (Fordham + GM)
Ossuniyi - averaged 7 points 16 rebounds, 4 blocks and 3 steals in 2 wins (Fordham + GM)

For Freshman of the week Jamison Battle of GW averaged 19 ppg and 10 rpg in 2 games. The 6’7” Battle hit (9-21) on 3Ps and (9-9) on FTs. Not sure anyone can top or come close to topping that.

GW gave Duquesne all they could handle last game, down 1 with a couple minutes left.

Not sure if that means the Dukes really aren't that good, or GW is improving with a player like Battle.

No gimme, these conference games.

GW was +7.5 and lost by 5 so went close to expected vs Duquesne. It’s tough to win on the road but Duquesne did. Battle is an impressive freshman for GW.

I can tell you this.

They are both better than last year.

If Duquesne gets past Fordham they will be 15-2 heading into the Ryan Center with a top 50 NET.

With the Season Fatts has been putting together I'm amazed he's only held POW once all season, not even an honorable mention.

I’d think the “Honor Roll” is basically the same thing as Honorable Mention, he’s gotten that a few times.

For URI Only 1 POW and zero Freshman of the Week Awards. With a (8-1) record points to the balance of the URI Team. Just keep winning and the individual post season awards will come.

A10 Process for picking A10 player of the week:
Did URI player deserve solo honor? Yes. Okay lets have co-player of week
Did URI player deserve co-honor? Yes. Okay lets leave them off and have solo player of week from other team

That can't be real life. What a mess the hierarchy of the A10 is. Whomever is steering that ship must be blind.
You have a kid who has been lighting it on fire and is electric to watch. It's called free marketing. You should want everyone wanting to watch him play. Idiots. No wonder they can't sell ad space to save their lives.

IMHO Bones should’ve been rookie of the week, don’t really understand why Lee was, ok I can see Perkins being POTW but putting Daly, even though he had a good game against SLU, they didnt win, I remember Cyril last year put up two monster games in one week (In the middle of our Losing streak) and only got Honor Roll, I agree whoever is running/ in charge of this isn’t doing the best job

Cyril Langevine is your player of the week!
IMO he should have won it solely based on him hitting a game opening 3 pointer against GW.

One would reasonably think the leading scorer in all of the A-10 would win the award outright at least once and be a co-winner more than once. I guess A-10 voters don't agree.

Congrats to Cyril and well deserved overall for both him and the program to get some recognition. However, I continue to say the lack of “Fatts Russell” in the winners’ column thru now 14 weeks of the season, and really even the relative lack of “Obi Toppin” considering he’s one of just a few players who could legitimately be the best player in the country makes the award a joke. Giving 1 for an outright POY and 0.5 for a shared POY, Fatts and Obi have COMBINED for 2.5/14 for 18% of the POY awards given out for the season. That is an absolute absurdity. As I said before, if the people deciding the award winners aren’t going to take the award seriously, I can’t either.

Agree here. Heck, give 70% of POW to Toppin, 25% TJ Fatts and 5% to other players on contenders for all i care. Use it to promote your best. Do the same with Bones and Mitchell for ROW. Just weird awards all year - Cyril was somewhat shocking this week.

Completely agree. I understand in today's world we want to make sure everyone is recognized for their accomplishments blah blah blah.
But it is called PLAYER of the week. We're in a conference where there are plenty of good players so multiple people will have good weeks. BUT PICK ONE PERSON! Sorry to the other player who also had a good week, play better the next week and then hopefully you'll get it.

We kill A10 for Stan Robinson not getting DPOY (and rightfully so) but I would have also been pissed if they made them Co-DPOY. That would have been even more horse manure.

I agree, I don't like co-winners.

But Langevine was not s co-winner. He won it by himself.

Only other URI Player to win Player of the Week was Russell in Week 3. He shared it with French of SLU. So suppose only French got the POW because they only were allowed to give 1? Russell would be left out.

But I do think 7 of 14 weeks with Co-Winners is a bit much.

Freshman of the Week only has 2 Co-winners in 14 weeks.

Nice week for Langevine. I'm glad they select not just on points but also look at rebounds, blocks, steals and assists, plus shooting percentage as Langevine went 9-11 for 81.8% FG. Well deserved for the Big Guy.

Wonder if there was a little bit of pressure to pick a URI Players since Dayton has had POW 6 Times and URI only 1 time with Russell? Dayton (10-0), URI (10-1)

Langevine provided two efficient, effective performances, averaging 13.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steal in two wins for the Rams The forward form East Orange, N.J., scored his 1,000th career point and finished with 15 points, nine rebounds and four blocks against Massachusetts. He followed that up with his sixth double-double, getting 11 points, 13 rebounds and three assists at George Washington. For the week, Langevine was 9-for-11 from the floor (.818), missing just one field goal in each game. He also made his first career 3-pointer, which came on the first shot of the game at GW.

Completely agree Stan got robbed, he earned DPOY hands down. I just think it would have been more bullshit to say "oh you were great but this guy whose numbers were somewhat similar but played on a worse team was equally great so you can share". Instead they were clearly biased against URI so they screwed Stan. But I also acknowledge I have odd thought processes most of the time.

Maybe they gave it to Langevine this week for hitting his first career 3. Let's hope he doesnt attempt another tonight, but if he does let's hope he hits it.

Let's hope he doesnt attempt another tonight, but if he does let's hope he hits it.
so who got Defensive Player of the Year instead of Stan?

Haha, don't even get me started. I'm already fired up enough today as it is! But you're right, it was my arch nemesis Yuta. No word on if he cried when he received the news.
