In Amway Preseason Coaches Poll Virginia Tech received 64 points placing them 32nd Nationally and 5th among ACC Teams

Ahead of Virginia Tech in the ACC Rankings:
#1 Clemson (59 first place) - 1,619
#9 Notre Dame - 1,100
#22 Syracuse - 227
#29 Miami - 94

Watching VT.

They are blowing out Miami.

They just made a QB change and they are a completely different team.

Their QB is a really good athlete. He will annihilate us with his running.

If they can score 42 against another FBS team, I'm guessing they score just a tad more than that against us lol.

Our usual late game "rallies" might allow us to get within 50 or so...….

Watching tape of our "defense" should give them some laughs.

There doesn't seem to be a line available anywhere right now that I can find. Perhaps some books may add it later today or tomorrow, but it wouldn't be unheard of for most places to not offer an FBS/FCS game.

Rhodysk, when you can't run the ball you're not going to score TD's very often from inside the 5 yard line.

The field is too condensed and that also makes it tougher for receivers to get open.

Played VaTech tough for quite a while, but ran out of gas late....still covered the spread.

Has to be the best 1-5 FCS team around.....the rest of their games are winnable, but how many will they win?

My guess is they go 3-3...4-8 ends up being a major disappointment.

If they end up worse, and it turns out that Fleming hasn't been extended, then he needs to go. Even at 4-8, it's hard to justify keeping him around.

If the defense was even just average, this teams record would be at least 3-3, most likely 4-2.

The offense is very very dangerous.

The pass on the PI looked like it was very high and uncatchable. I don't remember the last time the refs ruled a ball uncatchable to overturn a PI penalty. As previously stated it was a huge play.
Need to work on the middle of the defensive line which gave up too many big runs right up the middle.

Proud of the offense, defense and special teams for Rhody

51,716 attendance for the game. Largest crowd ever to watch URI play football breaking the record by 11,616

Another great game by Coulter - a travesty that he missed the last 10 minutes of the game after the targeting penalty. Clearly down, the helmet to helmet targeting was Terrible. Refs got it right with the 15 yard penalty and auto ejection. Instead of being concerned for Coulter’s safety and well being this punk tries to get cheers from the fans as he exits the stadium. His Head Coach should bench him and the AAC should penalize him further.

Javier-Castillo continues his all CAA Linebacker play with a game high 11 tackles

Keith Wells with some huge defensive plays

CJ Carrick awesome season continues with 3-3 Field Goals

URI earned well deserved respect today
