That would be pretty cool. I have seen video of his dad saying he doesn't care where he goes, but then he coughs and says UMiami.

I tend to agree, the likely hood of him ever suiting up in URI uniform seems unlikely and would expect him to go to one of the Florida schools. it would probably be a big distraction for the team as well.

What an extremely dumb take.

If we can land D-Wade’s son I’ll gladly take that distraction...

More TVs games, more national exposure, word of mouth, and Top 5 shooting guard EVER attending our games and talking about our program.

Yea, some “distraction...”

just like the lavar bell/ucla situation

if you don't think there's a chance that he could be a distraction, especially if he doesn't play, you're a complete moron

Comparing Lavar Ball to Dwyane Wade doesn’t make any sense. In what way does Wade seem like Ball?

Zaire only seems to have two offers (URI and DePaul, Hoiberg reportedly hasn’t offered), so minimal recruiting interest, at this point as a junior.

I don’t see him having a famous stepmom and basketball playing dad as much of a positive or a negative. After “oh, that’s cool” I don’t see it having much effect. More games on tv? Yeah, no That’s not happening.

Yeah what the hell?

LaVar Ball and Dwayne Wade are completely opposite people.

It would be more like the Luke/Bill Murray situation.

Unless we could somehow tell Zaire is a famous son diva type kid, there is no reason to think that there would be anything detrimental to having him on the team.

Agree with you - Its not like people packed the stands to see Jeffrey Jordan. If Dwayne or Gabrielle Union are showing up at games regularly, that'll move some tickets, but I doubt in any major way.

Dwyane Wade and Lamar Odom only spent a year playing together, but Wade has many fond recollections of how great a guy and teammate Odom was. Zaire was a young kid at that time and may have some memories of him as well of playing around the locker room, so I doubt there is a coincidence Lamar is in that graphic.

not a ton of minutes for Zaire, but good shooting game 5 of 7 for 10 pts. E1T1 games are 11:15 and 6 PM today and 11:30 tomorrow.

He averaged 25.5 minutes in the 4 previous games. Link to his stats below for 5 games this Spring.
7.6 ppg, 3.6 Ast, 1.4 TO, 2.0 Rebs. Like the FG% (67%), FT (9 out of 10) & Ast/TO of 2.6. He is 0-5 from three.

Transferring to Sierra Canyon in CA to go play with LeBron’s kid next year. He’s gonna blow up with that exposure now, we won’t sniff him.

Back to Zaire for a minute. The kid appears to be a show. His video productions on a daily basis. Being at celebrity in a game he coordinated with Overtime in NY. It was like a movie. Hard to see him being humbled as a Freshmen. Has money and seems spoiled.

Okay, so, back to Zaire....

I think URI’s offer to him was one of those “offers”. Who is the lead in Wade’s recruitment? Sutton?

How good is Wade really? He holds offers from just URI and DePaul, not sure about the Nebraska offer was that Miles or Hoiberg?

I guess Michigan could make some sense based on the Howard-Wade connection but Howard was a shaky hire so he needs to produce W’s not help his buddies out.

I'm curious to see if Marquette offers him...and if they do, is it because they think he can play or if they somehow feel obligated to offer because of Dwyane.

I'm sadly going to spend far more time pondering this thought more than my life decisions.

It was Miles who offered.

I also find it odd that he appears to be unranked by most recruiting sites. I know guys fly under the radar and rankings don't mean everything but one would think that being Dwyane Wade's son would make it kind of difficult for him to go unnoticed if he was really talented. I can't imagine he'd have much of an impact here but who knows.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he reclasses to ‘21 with his recent decision to transfer to CA and play with Bronny.

The article was only two days ago on 247.com and states he ranked #346 on 247 Composite. That isn’t a 4 star. Today on 247 he has a Composite of #193 and 3 star.

I can’t seem to paste the IG post that had a photo of him and the caption that he is now upgraded to a 4 star on 247. I’m not being sarcastic but asking the question how a 4 star isn’t good enough for the A10.

So Evan Daniels writes an article on 247.com that Zaire’s ranking is going to go up and then the next day Daniels/247 inflate his ranking to significantly bump up his Composite ranking. On Oct 28th he was ranked #346 Composite and #330 on 247. The day after the article 247 moves his ranking to 129 (4 star) to bump his 247 Composite ranking to 193 (3 star).

He is rated a 3 star on Rivals with no national ranking.
He is rated a 3 star on ESPN and not in their national rankings.

Maybe it's simply because he is now at a top school and playing well? Shouldn't kids move up if they are getting better?
We complain when a kid jump as soon as a P5 school shows interest, we probably shouldn't complain when a guy we are looking at jumps.

It's not like the staff will be swayed by this, so who really cares? Good pub for the program.
