Football to play at Pitt 9/24/22, OOC schedule complete

We'll be making $450k to play at Heinz Field. Definitely thinking of making the trip for this one. If the Steelers have a home game the next day that will help make up my mind. If the Pirates are home that weekend I'll definitely be going, PNC Park looks amazing and I need to cross if off of my list

9/10 at Bryant
9/24 at Pitt
10/1 Brown

Nice-I really like the variety.
Should be able to get a better recruit. (Or have to)

PNC is a great park. Saw Roger Clemons pitch there with the Astros. Make sure you get to Permantes for a Cappy and Egg sandwich 8-)

Interesting from the article.............

A copy of the game contract was obtained from the University of Rhode Island via a state public records request.
Rhode Island will travel to take on Pitt at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Sept. 24, 2022. The Rams will receive a $450,000 guarantee for playing the game, according to the copy of the contract.

Wonder why someone has to find this information on this game from a state public records request?
Why wouldn't either of the 2 schools make an announcement?

Maybe just a timing thing but seems odd

Good game for URI, we have historically had a good number of recruits from Pennsylvania. Not too far to go and a nice $450,000 paycheck

I think URI's annual FB budget is $2M?
The open records request jumped out at me too.
Typically media requests it for coaches contracts, controversial subjects,spending,etc..
The game is 4 seasons away? It appears to be a out of state media outlet?
Could be a germane look at FCS revenues/budget etc.? Since the state does not really do anything re. URI FB,not sure of any controversy?

From article from 3 years ago, cost was $3.6 million but we only lost $500,000.

I’d say 1.9 million is a little more than a lifeline! That would have paid for half of the stadium improvements URI just undertook. Crazy money but I get your point, it’s a “fairly easy” way to balance or at least reduce the $ loss for a season. Not to mention the sell of big time games to a potential recruit.

Am I correct as far as Rhody’s upcoming paid to play games?:

2019: Ohio and VT
2020: I must be missing somebody.
2021: UMass and North Texas
2022: Pitt

I don't know what I was drinking the day I said i was there, but I've never been in Heinz field. I was at PNC Park for a Pirates game. While I did go by Heinz, I was never in it. But PNC is indeed awesome!
