URI football to play at UMass in 2021

In case you don't want to scour the picture closely, the game with be at McGuirk Stadium on October 16th. We're also scheduled to play at North Texas and Brown and host Bryant.

9/11 Bryant
10/2 at Brown

North Texas and UMass...what do they pay in comparison to say Kansas? Maybe 500K total?

Rambone-probably,vs.$900K from VA Tech and Ohio.
But,would rather get 2 games for $500K vs. teams can compete against then playing Syracuse or BC (either for one game) for same amount and getting beat 50-0.
Aren't a lot of FBS conferences eliminating FCS games anyways? Take the $$ and run. Need new entrance and east stands.
Like the variety also. can sell it to recruits.

Plus a lot less travel expense to go to UMass....bus instead of flying is huge, along with no hotels.....does make up for some of the difference in revenue.

I don't believe they do or they are very few and far between. The contract says it will be at McGuirk in Amherst either way. It seems we had our chance a couple of years ago and backed out of that game to play Central Michigan I believe

According to fbsschedules.com this is no longer accurate. North Texas is out and the Brown game has moved to 9/18. That seems odd, I can't recall playing Brown that early before, it's pretty much always the first Saturday in October. North Texas is now scheduled to play Northwestern State on that date

The UMass game has been changed to November 6th. So the 2021 schedule now looks like:

9/11 Bryant
9/18 at Brown
11/6 at UMass
