RR2,
I have been patiently waiting for this years schedule and surprised it is not out yet. Last seasons schedule was released on December 13. We are now a month later than that.

It feels like everyone else has their schedule out, I have no idea what is going on on our end. We have a very small amount of our nonconference schedule listed if you go to last year's schedule and change the dates in the url to this year, that's how I knew about UT Rio Grande Valley. The Atlantic Ten website has the conference schedule up on their page, then I looked at regional teams we played last year. Clearly I'm already done with winter even though we've gotten off very easy so far and didn't care that much about last night's NFC game

I really have my eye on the April 17th game at Hartford. For all the problems in the construction of Dunkin' Donuts Park, it's supposed to be outstanding and has been named Ballpark Digest's best AA facility both years it's been open. First pitch is set for 6:05. That morning at 10:35 the Hartford Yard Goats (Colorado Rockies) host the Richmond Flying Squirrels (San Francisco Giants). Before moving to Richmond that franchise was the Connecticut Defenders and Norwich Navigators. I wish it was more of a true doubleheader, that's potentially a lot of time in between games to try to find something to do in Hartford, but if the weather is nice I think I'll be making that trip

We've actually seen the Flying Squirrels in Richmond a couple times on our way to southern (driving) vacations (bought the T-shirts, too  ). One thing I will say about the ballpark in Richmond...excellent beer selection. Lots of local stuff and IIRC you could get a 22oz dumpster for like $10, a relative bargain these days.

Glad to see baseball talk. The only redeeming quality of winter is college basketball - that's pretty much it. Really thankful for how easy we've gotten off so far, but baseball season, and baseball weather, can't get here soon enough!

RR2,
Great job putting parts of the schedule together.
I found UTRGV released their 2019 Baseball Schedule back on October 25, including the 4 game with URI to be played in 3 days.

Good trip for URI down by the Mexico border near McAllen Texas
I am sure there will be other games included in this swing down to the Southwest.

UTRGV hosts Rhode Island for a four-game series March 1-3 before playing its first road game of the season at Texas. UTRGV then hosts UMass March 8-10 for four games and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi as part of the South Texas Showdown, presented by Navy Army Community Credit Union, on March 12.

A few updates to the schedule:

We'll be playing three against Missouri from 2/22-2/24 in Fort Myers at City of Palms Park, the Red Sox spring training facility from 1993-2011
We'll be playing three at Wichita State from 3/15-3/17
The first Sacred Heart game will be 3/20, not 3/19
We play at Quinnipiac 3/26

Right now we're at 52 games (we play 4 at UT Rio Grande Valley, doubleheader on Saturday), last year we played 51 with 2 maybe 3 games postponed, so this should be just about it. Last year we had 18 home games, with at least one, maybe two games that were postponed, this year we have 19 home games scheduled

Great!! Thank you RR2 plus thanks for all your work to pull together info prior to the official release.
I love how the baseball team travels every year. I think this is important to publicize for recruiting purposes plus to get Alumni people excited about going to see their school in Texas, etc.

Northern schools have to travel given the uncertainties of spring weather around here. I think Frank Keaney had suggested that baseball in college be played in the fall because of that.

Rhody @ Wichita this weekend and the games are on Yurview somehow. Still a terrible terrible channel name but they've got some solid baseball coverage out there. Rhody leads 5-4 in the top of the 4th right now - video is here: https://www.yurview.com/rhode-island-vs ... ll-3-16-19

So, this guy is announcing both games of a doubleheader, by himself. Man...not sure I could talk that much. To add to that - I thought, in college, the doubleheaders were 7 inning games? Looks like they're playing two 9's (which is fine with me, I'm sitting down).

URI started the A10 season off on a high note taking a 3-0 lead over St Joseph’s on the road in Philly when the came was postponed not by rain, sleet, snow or cold weather but by of all things hail. Never seen a Baseball game stopped and rescheduled to the next day because of a hail storm that covered the playing field with ice.

Good luck to the Rams again on Day 2 of Game 1

2-0 Rhody now

It is excellent coverage
Amazing how technology is changing sports broadcasting so fast
Used to be the Big East having a big money contract with FS1 was a big thing
Now we can watch most every URI Basketball Game every year
Some URI football streamed with more to come
Now baseball on NESN
URI softball on ESPN+
Amazing

Took 2 out of 3 against Fordham. Unlike basketball Fordham has a good team, one that can compete in the A-10. As per usual URI is winning more than less once they finish up with their beginning of the season extended road trip. Tought to loss ur #1 starter in Wilson. He seemed to hit his peak in his sophomore season and after that experienced arm troubles that have not let up!

Rhody down 3-0, bases loaded, 2 out...and they somehow manage to send it to extras.
Refreshed on that 3-2 count a gajillion times...nothing...then, boom, it's 3-3.
Was a bunch of hits/walks, just a very slow uptake on the 'net and then all of a sudden, multiple plays show up...

Bottom of 9th inning, Rhody with two outs and nobody on base. What are the odds???

We tie in the 9th 3-3 then win in the 10th. Unbelievable!

Let’s sweep the 3 game series tomorrow!

1st 2 Batters for Richmond walk. Oddly Richmond runner at 2nd gets thrown out trying to steal third. No out, you don’t take yourself out of potential rally early in the game

Next guy singles but no run scores and two fly outs.

So potentially ugly inning gets no runs. Hopefully a good sign as Rhody goes for the 3 game sweep today.

What a great sweep for the Rams! Tough series next weekend at Davidson, but after that, our last four A-10 opponents have a combined conference record to date of 7-26. We've got a great shot at a strong seeding in the A-10 tournament, which will be held this May at Fordham.
