I am saying 8-4.
This is the most talent URI has had since 84-85.

Virginia Tech only a 6 1/2 point greater favorite than Ohio? That surprises me. Perhaps Ohio is a better team than I assumed. It’s not like I’m in the habit of checking preseason MAC football rankings. Maybe I will, now that I’ve seen these spreads.

Looking forward to seeing how the QB situation plays out

Georgia State received $950,000 for making the trip to Knoxville. Entering Saturday, SEC teams had won 82 straight games as a favorite of 25 points or more. The last loss also came to a Sun Belt team: Mississippi State lost to South Alabama on Sept 3, 2016.

But on top of that Georgia State won the game 38-30 vs Tennessee. What a payday.

Peyton Manning was at the game. Many fans left at halftime to focus on tailgating.

We basically have Vito Priore as our quarterback.

It’s entirely possible I transposed a number, although I feel with that one I double-checked myself 2 weeks ago as I thought it was a substantial jump. More like than not I could have factored in the HFA wrong as that is done manually.

I can tell you the math was right for this week. Maine is a 53.46. URI is a 47.27. It’s a 6.19 difference, plus an extra 3 for home field.

Call me crazy but with 10 games left and pretty close lines for the conference games I could see URI going 8-2 with loses to VTech and W&M. Call me crazy but seems very possible.

It’s starts Saturday at UNH a game ( dare I say ) must win for rhody and a win that would really get things rolling for them.

This game is extremely important. We need to go up there and win to get the season on the right track. A loss would be pretty devastating with a tough Stony Brook team coming to Kingston on the 28th.

I haven’t seen one James Madison highlight this year, but I don’t think I’m going out on a limb by stating that no way Rhody beats them. It won’t matter that it’s at home. I went to the 2017 game and I still remember how big their offense line looked as I walked from the Ryan lot to the east stands and watch them warm up in the end zone. JMU just recruits a different caliber of athlete. At one point. I just watched the line play and the Rhody right tackle held the JMU defensive end every other play. He had to: it was the only way he could keep him away from Lawson. They weren’t all called, but could have been. I remember it was 7-3 at the half, but you knew Rhody wasn’t going to score an offensive TD. Unless they get a short field, I won’t be surprised if it’s the same this year.

We live close to campus and at halftime of that game, we drove over to watch, because...wow, they were in it.
I think JMU scored 21 points in the 3rd period and we were gone.

Loved the night game this year...seems that has potential...Great game atmosphere.
Tailgating needs to be amped up...maybe encourage more loud music.

11/16 - at Maine (+11)
11/23 - James Madison (+17)
Based on those odds, the program looks to be headed toward a 2-3 win season like many other years in the last two decades.

If that's the case, even after the turf and the lights people will be calling to end the bloodletting.

No they won't. People love football. The environment at Delaware was awesome, that isn't going to be shut down by a disappointing season. If it hasn't happened already its not happening.

Vegas insider has URI favored by 14 points.

Does not come close to aligning with previous point spread estimates.

Only Merrimack favored to win. (2-10) season if point spreads play out.

If this does play out the way the point spreads indicate, an 0-8league record would be a huge setback given the increased enthusiasm for the program at the end of last season. I’ll try and stay optimistic and say Rhody wins the home game against Elon, spurred on by the alumni/parent weekend crowd and also wins at either Albany or William and Mary. A 2-6 league record isn’t great, but at this point, I’ll take it. Then it will be time to wonder what happens to the offense next year without Parker and Dorsey.
