According to a source, Harvard is a home and home series, but instead of traveling up to Cambridge next year, we're pushing the return game back a season.

I have Brown away next year and home two years from now, that's assuming we go back to the standard home and home format that we had.

The 2020-21 season is the final one scheduled at the Barclays Center under the current agreement. As of now I don't know of tournament locations after this season.

I'm hoping it goes back to DC after.

Yes, a rotation of New York, Philadelphia and DC is probably best. Close to the most schools and easy for the western schools to get to. If you want to cut Philly from the list and just make it NYC and DC I'd be fine with that as well.

There are two seasons before this
2018-19
2019-20
THEN 2020-21

Why is there a post about scheduling three years out?
We have no idea what the schedule will be. You nailed it with PC being away.

Because Harvard is added to the schedule for that year and it makes sense to keep track of opponents that we don't play every year. If you don't want to read a thread about the 2020-21 schedule don't click on a link that says it's about the 2020-21 schedule

Solid series versus a typically good non P5 school.

The Hilltoppers have one of the best basketball traditions of all teams outside the top ten conferences. They have appeared in the NCAA Tournament 23 times with a combined record of 19–24. They also have 14 NIT appearances.

There are 10 games per year. That means that 4 A10 teams and 1 MW team will not compete in the challenge each year. I wonder if there's a guarantee that the same team can't miss more than once in the first 2 years. I do think it should be a loose requirement that you need to be in the top 10 to be in the challenge the next year. But with a potential exception for a marquee school like a VCU has a bad year due to injuries comes in 11th but is expected to be at the top of the league in the following year, perhaps they should get the nod over a team that is consistently in the bottom four.

The staff has their work cut out for it with just one home OOC game scheduled. Nearly all the true road games may be already accounted for with four (PC, WKU, Harvard, and FGCU). Will need to schedule some H&H series with several starting in Kingston. Fortunately they have a full year to work on this.

You are saying we will play Brown next year on December 5, but it was also reported today that we would play Boise State at the Ryan Center on December 5 ??

We typically play Providence the first Saturday of December (this year not included). I guess that won't happen next year either.

Nice, but there's a lot of work to do, to bring in a couple of good home OOC opponents.

There's only 2 or 3 more OOC openings.

URI has been a part of several of Mohegan Sun's top attendance events for college hoops. No surprise they are heading back. Since UConn for some reason will not play there, the casino seems to have targeted both URI and PC for games as often as it can. 2020 would be Rhody's third invite to this HOF event there. The Rams have also played single non tournament games there versus Oklahoma State and West Virginia as well.

This tournament is a homerun for URI. It provides two on campus Ryan Center home games and two Mohegan Sun games versus top teams that are close to being pseudo home games. While Duke had a lot of fans a few years ago, URI has for the most part had the lion's share of attendees there for other games. A lineup of far away teams such Marquette, Minnesota, and UCF should give Rhody a decided fan numbers advantage.

URI Games at Mohegan Sun Arena Record of 3-3
2009-10 URI defeated Oklahoma State 63-59
2012-13 URI lost to Ohio State 58-69
2012-13 URI lost to Seton Hall 55-60
2016-17 URI defeated Cincinnati 76-71
2016-17 URI lost to Duke 65-75
2018-19 URI defeated West Virginia 83-70

Two of the three losses at Mohegan Sun came during Hurley's first URI season when the program was in complete rebuild mode going 8-21. The lone loss in the other four games was to Duke. Considering that every opponent played there had a higher profile than Rhody, this record should be considered pretty good.

UNC would be way too scared to take a home and home with us unfortunately. They know there is a chance they'd lose at least at our place.

Now that this has been bumped, it's a good thing that the tournament we're playing in is at Mohegan because as of now that home schedule needs a lot of work. Have to figure we're done on the road games though

Plus they wouldn’t want to confront the fact that they stole our colors, mascot, and fight song.

I’m not sure what a tarheel is, but it sure as fuck ain’t a Ram.

With 2019-20 now in the books, has anyone heard anything more about the schedule for 2020-21? Ten of a possible thirteen OOC games seem already accounted for. Would think that, with four true road OOC games already planned (the total # played this past season), that many more (if any) would be extremely unlikely. Would think URI will try to line up more home games and try to get a higher profile name since the home schedule at this point is unimpressive. Would not expect the two home tournament names not yet known to be exciting. Even the road OOC games, besides perhaps Providence, lack sizzle when compared to this past year.
