His nickname is Yeezy. We already have a Meezy and a Moosie. It would be nice to add a Yeezy.

I think Yeezy went on the self invited unofficial visit where they don’t take pictures in a Rhody uniform and they don’t make a full size cutout of the recruit.

It doesn't hurt us to host as many unofficials as possible.....you don't know when backup plans become front line targets....like Dahmir Bishop blowing up and out of our sphere....I hope we are still in that sphere but we need to constantly recruit kids like Yavuz....

I can - let’s load up on guys who can play the 2/3/4 spots. It’s what we did last year except we did it with 6 guards under 6’4” - same philosophy with taller players, I love it!

I think Coach Cox wants to play with two rebounding Fs at 6’8”+. Like Cyril and Jermaine. They will recruit one big man for ‘19 and most likely one G.

They played 4 Gs out of necessity last year because they only had Andre and Cyril.

I am talking about recruits for ‘19 that would have impact in 2020-21 season as Soph.
Cyril, Layssard & Preston will be gone.

Coach Carroll watched Yeezy today. He was sitting on the baseline. Mid Atlantic Select won their game. They play again tonight. Best player on the team is a Penn State commit.

Backup plan to Bishop, which I don't think they'll need.

He will take few official visits before deciding. Big 10, Big 12 , Big east all on him pretty hard. He will be deciding what other schools that will get official visits. Also , could be others that haven’t been mentioned publicly involved.

Slim, you came on last year and seemed to pump up the schools that were interested in Matt Balanc. Then Matt went to Quinnipiac.
Now you come back and have Yeezy going to Big 10,Big 12 or Big East? I realize he has offers from the lower schools in those leagues. Most of these schools offer 25-30 recruits and have 2-4 open spots.

Matt doing well he found the right fit and had players from his Hs at Qpac. There was connection

What does he have to do with Yavuz ?

Why you bring up Matt then ? Not pumping anybody up just stating he will line up visits.

Based on this article Rhody has pulled back on Yeezy. It sounds like St Joe’s is the lead.

I don't think so. We are targeting our top guys and I think we get them so this guy will be a fall back option at best and could be gone by the time our top guys decide ???

Matt Gifford covers St Joe's, which is why that article had a St Joe's spin.

This shocks me. Yeezy has cut his list to final four. It’s not that Rhody isn’t included because they backed off. It is that he has four higher major schools. Nebraska, TCU, Georgetown & Northwestern.

Thought you said it was hype when I listed Big 10 & Big 12 and Big East offers.

Anthony Walker is good and getting better. If URI gets him be great get.

Matt was a great get for Quinnipiac. Slim works with a great AAU organization called Mid Atlantic Select (MAS). They do a good job of developing guys that maybe some of the "shoe" teams miss on. Guys like Garland Owens, CJ Keyser and Lavon Long come to mind (as does the kid from Springbrook who killed at LIU, can't remember his name off hand.) MAS does a great job and is always competitive.

MAS was a good fit for Yeezy. I believe he has only been in the U.S. for a little over one year.
He still needs to develop. Let’s see where he commits and signs.

I have seen him play. Approximately 5 games this July. He didn’t do much for several games in lower level AAU events.
I wish the kid the best. He seems like a nice kid from his training video and interviews.

Okay so you didn’t see him against UAA teams in ATL were he dominated top 100 kids? Where he picked up offers from TCU, Minnesota, Northwestern, URI, Or when he went for 25 pts against ITPS adidas team who was top 15 team in country with one top players in 2019 Oscar Twshibe. Right after Georgetown offered.

I’ve also seen all the other 2019 kids you mentioning play bad as well. I saw Yeezy outplay 2019 kid that committed to URI. Your acting like Yeezy project which is crazy. He would be difference maker at any A10 school including URI. That’s why they offered in got him on campus early.

With that said good luck to URI. Good program and fan base.

I told you guys all along Slim had a dog in the fight with these kids. He only pops up when his kids are being talked about, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that at all, I love to see the support.

I hope Yeezy and Matt do well, as well as whatever other player from your program that has aspirations to play ball at the collegiate level.

Just don’t get sensitive when folks don’t see your kids the same way you do. I’ve seen Yeezy play numerous times, and while I would never say he was the best player on the floor, he’s good, and will likely be a starter by his junior/senior season depending on where he goes.

Sensitive? I said Yeezy was getting recruited by big east, big 10 n big 12. Which all was true.

My goal is to see kids play at the next level. Which has happened for almost decade.

Got 2 guys in the A10 currently playing. One had great freshman year I would think he will be all conference player by the end of his career.

Good luck to URI!
