This kid performed bettr than a lot of top centers at the Pangos camp the other day. UConn offered last week, but likely because he is teammates with one of their top PG targets Wong. Looking at his other offers, there's no reason we can't be in the thick of this.

No mention of Rhody. He doesn’t point out any of the coaches by name. Just head coached called or I talked to the ast coach. That seems a little weird.

I hope we can get back in front of this one.
This player is a good example of the missing piece of the puzzle (rebounder/shot blocker).

Bishop/Walker/Wahab would be an outstanding class. Aim high.

He’s not. He doesn’t have good hands and isn’t strong off the dribble, however is effective off and around the glass, and can step out and knock down a shot here or there. Not saying he isn’t good, just don’t let the put backs and easy dunks fool u.

I believe Coach Sutton was in PA today to watch Wahab at Hoop Group Elite Session 2. Donta Scott was a teammate of Fatts and Bishop at Imhotep. LaSalle thought to be the lead on Scott.

Wahab: (2019, Ashburn VA): The 6’11 big man had himself a day. Wahab is a workhorse on the glass, grabbing everything out of the air. Wahab does extremely well to stretch the floor to get open looks on the perimeter as well as give his guards space to work. Having a player of his size who can shoot the ball is refreshing and follows the new trend the NBA has set in place. Wahab will look to attract the interest of more schools to add to his already vast collection.

Solid on defense. Protects the lane. Two very good players on his team - Isaiah Wong & the 4. They do the scoring. They won by 17 & 18 points in the two showcase games I watched. I would put him as option B ahead of Somerville and McLeod.

Plays liks Hass. 2nd lewding scorer behind Isaiah Wong. #4 Cheref Knox for WeR1 is from Imhotep. He has looked very good in the 3 games I have watched. VCU and Bonnies have offered.

WeR1 beat a good Atlanta Xpress team 70-67. They have a star player in Anthony Edwards - 5 star, 2020 #7 nationally who scored 26 , 13 Rebs, 7 Ast & 4 steals. WeR1 had balanced scoring - Wong (17), Dixon (15), Rice (12), Paz (11) & Wahab (9). Wahab was 4-7 FG, 1-1 FG, 6 Rebs & 3 blocks in 21 minutes. He is a legit Center 5.

I don’t think he’s our #1 focus. I think McCleod or Somerville are.

This article is from last month and I know the reporting on recruiting isn’t always right. However, this has quotes from Q and K State isn’t even mentioned. Neither is Rhody though (:

I think Coach Cox has narrowed his list down to 9-10 players. I don’t think he would waste any time on a recruit they have no chance at during this critical phase of the recruiting process.

Wahab only played 4 minutes last night. Played the first 4 and then came out. He wasn't hurt. It was a close game. The other team was a little smaller and quick. Would be surprising to see the coach keep him out for that much for strategy reasons. WeR1 won 63-58 to go 3-0 in Pool Play.

Semi Finals & Finals of the UAA Championship today/tonight. You can watch it free at uaassociation.com. They have an announcer, score, clock etc. It's pretty good. Semis are at 2:45 PT - DC Premier (Long) vs Texas Hard Work on Court 1 and WeR1 (Wahab) vs Team Charlotte on Court 2. Both games are available to watch. The championship is tonight at 7:00 PT.

Watch a little of the UA finals tonight. My initial impression was the DC Premier has a tall front line and Wahab who plays for WE R1 was impressive going against siniliar size players. He was active, and a great rebounder. If we can land him or Walker it would be a fantastic addition.
