Re: All things Dan Hurley/UCONN THREAD
Hurls' last press conference was a pretty good listen. He basically dared them not to rank them #1, but wasn't going to worry about it. Haven't watched them enough to say, but, doesn't seem like a stretch to me. Love the way he gives credit to his players..."there's a reason we blew through that tournament last year...we had great players"
He was answering a question (which I didn't hear because it seems they follow the 'don't give the questioner a mic' strategy) but said something (about someone) that might apply to Foulmena...to the effect of learning how to break contact, get off bodies and use his athleticism, stop wrestling so much, high point the ball and use his gifts.

Re: All things Dan Hurley/UCONN THREAD
Dan, really has UConn playing well. Wow.
They are 21-2 overall with only 1 loss in the NBE and blowing out GT by 20 in the first half on the road.
Also, amazing how much the 3 pt shot has changed the coaching and player mindset/decision making in the game.
I just saw a GT player drive to the hoop, beat his man in the lane, go up for an open layup but at the last second he kicked it to the corner for a 3 that ended up being contested and not taken. Luckily, the GT player faked the 3 attempt and dribbled closer to hit a tough 2 to get 2 points on the possession anyway.
I was never coached to do that when I played. I was coached to take the easy basket (an open layup) in that type of situation. Just wild how decision making has changed since I last played organized ball 20 yrs ago.

He’s a perfect perfect college coach and should stay.
Plenty of top notch college coaches fail in the pros.
Just off top of my head, Caliapri, Pitino, Saban all bombed.

LOL...I reminded my son of that today...I think that is so awesome...(then again, I could really care less about UConn or the NJ Nets, plus, I think UConn did Ollie dirty, regardless of how much he sucked, so could care less)TruePoint wrote: ↑7 months agoIronically enough, Kevin Ollie is currently the (interim) head coach of the Brooklyn Nets lolreef wrote: ↑7 months agoIf he goes back to back someone may offer him big bucks to go to the NBA right now no doubtNYGFan_Section208 wrote: ↑7 months ago

Some of you met him as a 10 year old running around the Ryan Center. Andrew’s senior night was special- they clinched the conference regular season championship and crushed Seton Hall (where everyone else in the family went), and he even scored. Danny was a mess. It was great.

Re: All things Dan Hurley/UCONN THREAD
He said go Rhody at the end of his press conference after the PC game in CT earlier this year and that went around Twitter for a bit, so I think he just was playing off of that. I assume it's just after games against PCNYGFan_Section208 wrote: ↑6 months ago He rocks ...does he do that everywhere or just at the amp? Either way is super cool

And to think how far we could have gone his 1st dance trip with us, if it wasnt for the injury to Hass and a couple of ref bone jobs against Oregon.

Is if I couldn't dislike coach k any more. I actually used to like Duke until we faced them in 88. That tech on Kenny Green was the worst and helped Duke win. Their players attitude of "They didn't belong on the same floor as us" was also uncalled for.

Garrick 3 quick fouls early in the game changed the complexion, we were right there lost by 1 point and would have played Temple for a 4th time !
