Where does an offer to a PA player come from?

Bishop is playing for K-Low Elite (Addias) in Washington DC this weekend. Ty is at the Addias event.
I would guess that David Cox is in Dallas where the Nike and UA events are this weekend.

It's going to be a little difficult not mentioning Hurley and UConn since we're recruiting a lot of the same players.

Repeating myself I know but we will be going toe to toe against uConn recruiting for the foreseeable future IMHO.

We already go toe to toe with PC often and always have.

Gonna be a fun ride especially if we snag a few.

THINGS SHOULD PICK UP FOR DAHMIR BISHOP

During the live period, smooth scoring guard Dahmir Bishop has picked up offers from Kansas State, USF and Rhode Island. He already had VCU, Penn State, Seton Hall, Temple, La Salle and others put offers on the table.

More programs on the high major level should get involved with this guy because he looks like a terrific college prospect.

Bishop has gotten really comfortable with his jump shot, he handles the ball well enough to get a team into their offense and makes good decisions. He's got a body to build on and a smooth demeanor about him that means he doesn't get too high or too low.

Dahmir Bishop, CG, K Low
Bishop is an intriguing combo guard with a very high upside. He has the size to play both the one and two, long arms, plus athleticism and versatility on both sides of the court. He's a capable shooter with range to three who can put the ball on the ground, pull up from midrange and get to the basket. While Bishop played off the ball in our viewings, he showed the vision and basketball IQ to play point guard as well. Bishop is a player with an impressive ceiling.
Recruiting: Bishop listed offers from Kansas State, VCU, Penn State, Rhode Island, Seton Hall and Rutgers

I mean, if you read the offers left-to-right and top-to-bottom we come first, so obviously we're in the lead. Penn State is closest to his heart, so gotta worry about them. Not sure what the LaSalle Explorer is looking so closely at...

He's literally shitting on Cincinatti, who KNEEds PC, and UConn is at the bottom of his list.

Makes perfect sense to me.

From Rivals article: A competitive chip is something not missing on the shoulder of Dahmir Bishop as the Rivals150 junior, while others were exiting the building on Saturday, was ramping up the intensity in the gym during the final contests of the night. A 6-foot-5 wing that doesn’t know what it means to not play hard, the K-Low Elite product has become a must get for some of the top local schools this spring. He can make shots, finish with authority and defend different positions, hence why VCU, Texas, Providence, Seton Hall and Penn State are just a few that have placed a priority on the Philadelphia native. He will take an unofficial visit to Rhode Island next month, he told Rivals.com, as the Rams sit as a top contender for his ultimate commitment.

MOST COMPETITIVE

It was a late Saturday night affair and right from the get-go, Dahmir Bishop made it a point that he was going to leave a giant fingerprint on his K-Low Elite team’s contest, regardless of whether he was going to make his shots or not. How so? Bishop ramped up the intensity of the outing straight from the tip, showing that he didn’t care who was opposing him and that his squad was going to win. This wasn’t just a random occurrence but rather the norm for the Philly native. Bishop has built his game on a blue-collared mentality and the willingness to complete whatever task needs to be done in order for his team to succeed. Bishop’s bunch made it to championship Sunday riding the Rivals150 guard. Syracuse, Providence, Rhode Island, Texas, Penn State and VCU are among those involved the most.

Bishop starting to figure out his recruitment

Standing and muscular-yet-slender 6-foot-4 with long arms, coming out of one of the top high school programs around and possessing the ability to score the basketball from all three levels, it’s no surprise that Dahmir Bishop is hearing from all sorts of high-level colleges as he enters the stretch drive of his recruitment.

After a strong April with K-Low Elite on the Adidas Gauntlet circuit, the Imhotep Charter rising senior picked up offers from Cincinnati, Providence, Rhode Island, Kansas State and South Florida, adding to a list that already included Penn State, Temple, La Salle, VCU and more.

Now, he’s starting to figure out just which ones are rising to the top of the list.

“I’m really just going off who I know loves me the most and who talks to me the most,” he told CoBL on Sunday after K-Low Elite was knocked out in the 17U quarterfinals by D.C. Premier.

“VCU’s been showing a lot of love, Penn State has been showing a lot of love,” Bishop added. “Rhode Island has really been on me, I talk to Coach Cox a lot, so he’s been on me. I’ve been talking to Aaron McKie from Temple a lot. I’ve been talking to a lot of coaches, I think I’m playing really well right now, so a lot of coaches are noticing how big I can play and keeping in contact with me.”

While the offers began to pile up for Bishop during his 16U summer last year, he wasn’t really focused at that time on exactly what it all meant. But this summer is rather different -- he’s paying attention to who’s courtside, to who’s reaching out, to who’s really interested.

“I’ve been talking to Kansas State, they’ve been at every game during the [April] live period. So I’ll see them a lot, (assistant coach Chester) Frazier from Kansas State a lot. I saw Coach Cox, he’s been at every game during the live period too. I have a real good relationship with Coach Cox.”

It’s no coincidence that Rhode Island has been hard in its pursuit of Bishop. Rams’ rising sophomore Daron ‘Fatts’ Russell, who averaged 7.0 ppg as a freshman this past season, is a fellow Imhotep Charter grad.

Bishop admitted Russell’s presence on the URI roster gives the Atlantic 10 program a bit of a boost: “Of course it does. Especially a guy like Daron, that’s a real good friend of mine. So that gives them a very good chance.”

An unofficial visit to URI’s campus is planned for June, but that’s the only current visit on Bishop’s calendar. He’s already been to Penn State, VCU and the local schools -- Temple, La Salle and St. Joe’s -- and also said he wants to visit Texas, where coach Shaka Smart has been showing recent interest.

And of course there’s still three more five-day live periods in July, where he’ll get the opportunity to reel in a few more looks before going through the official visit process in the fall.

“I think July is just going to be about seeing how my relationship with everyone is and then deciding from there,” Bishop said. “If I get more [offers] in July then I get more and I’ll still consider it, but I’m just focused on relationships that I have with guys right now.”

Following isn't tweeting at him. You're just following him. There's nothing wrong with that. When a kid sees that a lot of people from a school that is recruiting him are following, it's a good thing.

Hard to know what to make of an unofficial to a school down the street (could’ve just been playing pick-up in their gym), but

He’s a great player in his own right, but it would also be nice to have extra assurance that Fatts will graduate as a Ram.

There’s just as much assurance that Fatts will graduate a Ram as there is that every other D1 player will stay at their current school for their whole career, which is zero.
