I meant more recently. We got this!ramfan85 wrote:More like the fifth time.Rhodyfan32 wrote:Third time is a charm if we play Duke. Almost had them in 2008 and 2016. Really happy with E.C. today! Let's keep it going.
Fifth time. Almost also had them in the 1978 and 1988 tourneys as well.Rhodyfan32 wrote:Third time is a charm if we play Duke. Almost had them in 2008 and 2016. Really happy with E.C. today! Let's keep it going.
Then again, as the game progressed Iona lost their steam. So Duke it is.TulaneGradRamFan wrote:I think there could be an upset.
Our seniors playing like seniors and their freshmen playing like freshmen. If Duke plays to their best and we play to our best then there is no way we win, have to hope our experience helps us out.RhodysRelevant wrote:So glad i got to see the win today, but now i feel equally as bad about having to work saturday. what is it going to take to beat duke?
Last year, blue suit man and I drove last minute to see the A10 championship game. This year, I'm making the trip again with a few other friends (leaving Friday night after work) to see us beat Duke and get to the round of 32. There's just something about that drive to Pittsburgh ... Look forward to seeing many of you on Saturday repping the Keaney Blue.Stop! I'm too hyped up. Can't even talk straight. Thanks for the correction.Billyboy78 wrote:If we beat Duke, we'll be in the Sweet 16.Stop! I don’t even want to speak the matchups. Just in wait and see mode.Billyboy78 wrote:Stan has guarded guys bigger than he is before. But Carter is 6'10". And who takes Carter when Stan comes out or gets in foul trouble? Akele? And Andre on Bagley to start the game? We're going to have to play a nearly flawless game, create a lot of turnovers and shoot like hell. Definitely a bad matchup, but glad to get a shot at them.
I think Dan will change something up. You may even see AB and Cyril start and play a few short stints together. I think Akele has to play when Stan comes out. I think we could also see Rhody play some zone.reef wrote:Will we mix in some zone ??? If I am Duke I would be pounding the ball inside to start game
This. We'll need to be about 15-20% better than they are from 3-point range, so it can make up for all the dunks/layups their bigs will get on the possessions we can't deny the ball inside. The way to do this is play uptempo and get wide open threes in transition instead of the dribble in place contested shots. We'll need to find the right pace to where we are not reckless and turning it over while forcing a few Duke turnovers.theblueram wrote:Just score. Just put the ball in the basket and we will be good. JUST FREAKING SCORE!!!!
Sorry, I think house money is a bad pre-game take...we didn't come all the way out here for a single win and a "that's nice".RhodyRam86 wrote:Playing with house money now. Agree with DPS...we had NO chance vs Kansas in ‘98 and we have about that on Saturday. We’re playing with house money. I hope the team comes out good and relaxed. There should be less pressure in this game than any other game we’ve played in the last 2 years. We aren’t suppose to have a chance so just go out and enjoy the experience and stranger things have happened....
