The eye-test tells me that URI will rise in the rankings even though the SOS of late isn't that good. I had the feeling that the prognosticators were waiting for us to lose. The win at VCU on national TV was impressive.

I don’t think it was close. They were home. They hit several prayers to stay in the game. We aren’t the best rebounding team and they were handily outrebounded.

Since there is nothing else to bitch about on this glorious morn ....
I thought ESPN’s TV production sucked compared to CBSSN. The camera angles were terrible (maybe a product of Siegel’s sight lines) but they kept missing key plays. The announcers were too distracted by their “cleverness “. I knowESPN gives us more exposure but I prefer NBC and CBS.

The lion doesn't concern itself with the opinions of sheep.
They're saying whatever they can to make themselves feel better about this potentially being the beginning of the changing of the guard in the A10. They are a sensitive bunch who always overcompensate. They kind of remind me of the St. Bonaventure fan base but not quite as extreme in their hubris.

Maybe this was already mentioned or is known, but you can see a replay of the VCU game on ESPN under Watch. Usually games televised by a ESPN unit become available for replay about one hour after game is completed.

The play-by-play guy missed too much, but I actually didn't mind Mark Plansky, the color guy.
Fun fact: Claude recruited him hard coming out of high school in Massachusetts in the early 1980s.

If you listen to Dan's words carefully, he is happy to be here.
If you look at the big picture, he likes his players, is a man of integrity, and likes his situation here.
If he were offered a big contract, URI would make every effort to keep their guy.
Unlike many coaches, he is not the type to "posture".
He is a man of integrity, and is straight forward with the administration, and has always put the program first.
