Preview/Notes

• The overall series stands at 37-28, with Fordham having the edge in the early going, but since Fordham joined the A-10 in 1995, the edge has gone to URI, 28-14.

• URI has now lost two straight to Fordham and in the last ten games the teams have played to a 5-5 standoff.

• Before last year's win, Fordham had lost six consecutive games at the Ryan Center.

• In their A-10 series, 17 of URI wins have been by double digits, 9 games by over 20 points, whereas the Fordham wins have been closer, only 4 by double digits and one by over 20 points. More precisely, the average margin of URI wins is 14.6 points, Fordham 7.5 points.

I will be making the trip to the RHG with 5 other alums. Should be a pretty good Rhody turnout based on invites/groups I've received on Facebook. Anyone else going to be in the Boogie Down tomorrow?

Their present team is no where near as competitive as past teams. They barely have any bench. Basically play just six players with most of them logging over 30 min per game. Chartouny is averaging over 36 minutes per game. A deep team such as URI should be able to wear them down. Fordham is getting outscored by some 90 points in the 2nd half as the game goes on. They as a team are only scoring 61.6 ppg and are shooting .405 from the field and .282 on threes. I also don't think that Hurley would allow Rhody to lose two straight games to Fordham. I am sure he is reminding the guys about what happened last year although it may not be needed as the mindset of this team is far different than it was a year ago.

True. I am worried that we aren't grooming another big guy for the inevitable foul trouble in the tournament. URI has already been shackled with Berry and Cyril having fouls. Akele took care of business there, but I wouldn't feel comfortable without one more guy being able to step up and play.

It is something you often see in the tournament. Newcomers or young guys take on expanded roles for their teams to survive. I think Rhody has to start angling both to thrive in the tournament and to survive if need be. Don't get caught with Jared Terrell rebounding against an NBA pick with the game on the line like last year. Situational sub there.

Fordham is the last A10 team to defeat URI - the 53-43 stinker last Feb 15th at the Ryan Center and the game that likely kicked their collective arses into another gear. Since then they've had a 9 and a 10 game winning streak, winning 23 of the next 27. Let's keep that going!

Edit - 24 of next 28. I thought they were currently 14-3, not 15-3. After the fordham loss, they won 9 straight, then lost to Oregon. Then 15-3. Add it up, and the record is 24-4 since that loss to Fordham. Keep rollin' boys!

Yep. Rhody and the Pats are both 15-3.

awesome ill be with my cousin--also a rhody alum--his brother--my buddy who always comes ad 4 other guys--got the whole row--one kid is a fordham alum but he knows whats up-- he got us free food at the pub before the game at 6 lol

Interesting move made by Eric Paschall to have left Fordham and transfer to Villanova a couple years ago

He is now on the #1 ranked team in the Country and had a very efficient statistics line in the 20 point win over PC tonight
