Pc protected the uri ticket last year the same way they protected the Villanova game last year. With mini plans and season ticket sales.

Blows my mind with the campaign to call out uri and its fans about resources on its message board by posters that never go to games or have a stake in uri, the journalist that covers them, and the coach???

Do they think fundraising falls out of the sky? That somehow the message board, the coaches show, and bill Koch are going to generate millions?

You want money then ask. Come with a plan. Have events with models of what you want with a plan to build and pay. Recognize that lobbyists move mountains in this state. Recognize that big donors aren’t hiding. Their comments aren’t going to uncover a new mega donor, they already know them. Talking about what you want won’t make it appear out of thin air. I’m unmoved by the current amateur hour. Take the next step. Stop adding a caveat for people following the team.

Maybe all this smoke is meant to softly introduce something at the end of this year with a fund raising drive and they don’t want it to be a flop. But whatever it is, please get on with it.

A coach that is openly more emotional on the sideline than nearly all others says there is no emotion in the biggest rivalry game? Come on.

What Koch said. Attendance is an issue nationally. I, too, was disappointed in the HC and Brown turnouts. But we win Saturday, the trend will resume upwards. If so, no need to panic.

I can say walking into the Ryan Center and seeing the very large student section empty is a buzzkill for games.

Hopefully Dan can clarify and throw some shade on pc

Cooley is a big blowhard who has never seen a microphone or TV camera that he did not like. I really enjoy his performances when he knows the TV camera is on him during a time out when he talking to the team. If the network would only televise one of the time outs without him being told ahead of time would be must see and listen to TV. That would represent Cooley the way he really is--a loud vulgar loudmouth.

I think this is JT's first game against pc where he is the main plan.

It's easy to "build a program" literally, when you are a private school and have no restrictions on how much to spend....also 4 million plus reasons per year from FOX doesn't hurt either.

PC has HUGE advantages in resources.....don't see that fundamentally changing for a long time.

URI will never give Dan everything that he wants......they just can't.

I hope so. I was told by someone very close to the PC program that Cooley was 100% convinced JT was a Friar when he decommitted from Ok St. Cooley was pissed when JT chose URI. I hope JT goes off for 40 against them.

PC is always going to have better attendance for a number of reasons.

1. Rhode islanders are notorious for not wanting to travel anywhere more than 15 minutes away. Providence County has a population 630k. Washington County has 125k. I grew up in Providence County and everyone I knew was a PC fan including myself ( until I went to URI). There is simply a larger local fan base. You could counter this with our alumni base which is much larger locally than PC but I know a number of URI grads that are bigger PC fans than URI which is sad.

2. This one is kind of obvious but PC is in a better conference and has better conference home games.

3. PC has had more past and recent success.

4. PC has full alcohol service and has many dining and drinking options within walking distance.

Never forget that everything associated with Providence College reeks of low class. And this applies to their entire community - the academic administration, the athletics administration, the students, the alumni and the subway alumni. Any witness to a capacity crowd at the Dunk versus the Ryan Center confirms their thuggish, low class. The Ryan atmosphere is so much more wholesome that what will you ever get at the Dunk. Besides PC is the perennial moocher. Remember the blowhard guy (so typical of PC fans) who came onto this board years ago to say that PC was going to build their own arena on the site of the Coca Cola plant and then got his panties in a bunch when he was called out on the claim. What happened to that plan?? just saying.

Cyril needs to play 25 minutes on Saturday if we stand any chance of winning this game. They are too big and fast for Berry.

The key match up is at the point guard spot. Cartwright must be contained.

What we have going for us is that they rely on freshman to play a large roll. This will be their first real away game, in a very intimidating environment.

Keys to our game. Must hit free throws and our bigs can't get into foul trouble.

This is the best and biggest rivalry in all of New England for college Basketball. Its not a must win... BUT WE MUST WIN!!!

And Big Ed can stick his backhanded complement up his ass!!!
